    Unhandled exception error while trying to add new connection

    Hello,

    I'm trying to add a new connection, but when I click on the "Connections" menu, then click "configure", I get an Unhandled exception error. The error occurs when I just click on "configure".

    What version of NinjaTrader are you currently on? You may view the full version number in the Help > About window. Also, is this a new installation of the platform or one that you have used and connected successfully on before?

      The version number is 8.1.1.7

      No, this is not a new installation. I am able to connect using existing connections. I am trying to add a new connection.

        Thank you for your response.


        As a test, please try the following.
        • Shut down NinjaTrader
        • Go to the Documents/NinjaTrader 8 folder and rename the Config.xml file to 'Config OLD.xml'
        When you reopen NinjaTrader you will need to re-enable Multi-provider from the Tools > Options > General window and then restart once more. After following the above, are you able to successfully add new connections to the Connections > configure window without error?

          It did not work. I still get the error and now all of my previous connections are gone. Also, it changed the look of my platform to an all white setting. I also had Replikanto trade copier and now I get an error message saying that I don't have a license for the product but I do have a license.

            Thank you for your response.


            You may undo these changes and get back your old settings by deleting the current Config.xml file and undoing the rename of 'Config OLD.xml' back to 'Config.xml' in the Documents/NinjaTrader 8 folder while the platform is closed.

            To allow us to look further into this error on your platform, please write to [email protected] along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post. In your response, please also include 'ATTN Justin' in the subject line so it arrives in my inbox. Please do not upload these files to the forums as they may include personal information and will be removed.

            Follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
            • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
            • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
            • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
            • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
