    Error: Required Real-Time Market Data

    Received an error in Sim mode telling me that I need Real-Time Market Data to trade this contract.
    Suggests that I update my market data subscription and place a new trade.
    Of course, I do not know how to update my market data subscription

    While demo accounts provide 14 days of real-time data for the most commonly traded futures contracts, any data for other contracts or instruments would have to be received through a provider before you can trade them on a simulated account.

    If you have an active account with NinjaTrader or any other brokerage, you could enable real-time data through them. For a list of all supported providers, please see below:



    Alternatively, you can also use NinjaTrader's Market Replay feature to simulate trades. This is available free of charge to all NinjaTrader Desktop users. For further information, please take a look at the video below:

      I looked at the list you provided me and did not see either Ensign or Delta Trade. As well, the video only discusses playback. I have already done playbacks on Ensign. I am to run Simulations on real data now. This was working last Friday and now does not work. Still lost.

        If this error occurs while you are connected to a third-party provider, such as Ensign, you would have to reach out to them directly for further information as we have no access to their enablements.

          That strikes me as strange as I have had Ensign tell me that they connect through you. That is, you are feeding them live data, not they feeding you live data. As such, I do not see why I cannot make a trade on your platform. It is not the Ensign platform generating error messages.

            The NinjaTrader platform itself does not provide real-time data but only enables the connection to providers that supply this data.

            Based on my information, Ensign only provides real-time data to their own tool. Any other windows, such as Charts or SuperDOM windows would not receive data from them.

            This means you would have to enable real-time data through a different provider, e.g. NinjaTrader, to be able to use these windows.

            As this information is provided by Ensign directly we do not have access to it or have further information in this regard. They, however, should be able to provide further information on how to enable this data through other providers.

              So, you are now saying that the Real-time data does not come from Ensign to you after all?

              While I have your attention, perhaps you can help me with another problem.

              Your tutorials talk about setting limits and stops with the terms, "Stop-Limit", "Stop-Market", and "Market if touch". First off, I have no idea what the differences between these 3 options are as the tutorial did not bother to explain them. Second, their explanation implied that I have to set a limit and stop order on each and every trade I will make, which seems both highly inefficient and greatly burdensome.

                To my knowledge, this is correct. Ensign does not provide data for most of NinjaTrader's windows, only for their own add-on within the platform.

                However, Ensign would have further information available in this regard.

                I suspect you might be referring to an ATM strategy, which by default uses a Stop Limit and a Stop Market order to secure the Profit and limit the Loss for an open position.

                  You completely mislead me. I got a member of the Delta Trading Group on the phone and she walked me through how to configure my setup completely on the Ninja platform. Never was about Ensign. Furthermore, trying to forge ahead, I have discovered there is no up-to-date information on Ninja's help on how to configure the Super DOM. All the help is with some other older DOM. Overall, I'm completely dissatisfied with Ninja Trader.

                    I got the same message and I'm suscribed to Top of Book Level 1 data and paid monthly ninjatrader 8 suscriber. I am running the same algo strategy on 5 different instruments. Any Clues?

                    And the instruments noted in the Log Error Message are included in the subscription that I am already suscribed to.
