    Account editing and balance change in Playback Connection

    How do I edit the account, and change the balance change the account balance, when I'm connected to "Playback Connection"?

    The version I have installed is 8.1.xxxx

    Hello,

    Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account.

    Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
    • Right click on your simulation account and select 'Edit Account'
    • Press the "Reset" button

      I'm using NT 8.0.28. When not connected to Market Replay, there is no replay account in the accounts tab to edit. When I am connected it is there but there's no way to edit it. The menu item on the context menu is disabled. Is it the same in 8.1? I would like to set an initial account balance for the replay account to something other than the default $100,000.

        Thank you very much for your post.

        The Playback101 account cannot be modified directly and resets automatically when a new playback connection is established.

        However, the settings it uses upon the reset are copied from the Sim101 account directly. This means to limit the funds, you could follow the steps below:
        • Disconnect from the playback connection
        • Right-click the Sim101 account and "Edit Account"
        • Change the Initial cash e.g. to 20000
          • You do not have to 'reset' the Sim101 account and can simply save it. By not resetting it, the Sim101 account's initial cash value would not change
        • Reconnect to the playback connection
        The Playback101 account is now created with a cash value of $20,000 instead.
