Can't importing tick data into historical data for NT8

    Hello,

I am receiving the following error when I try and import data.
7/8/2023 8:04:06 AM Default Unable to import file 'D:\Dropbox\adrian (3)\GC 01-03.Last.txt'. Instrument is not supported by repository.

Here is a link to the data I am trying to import, it is for Gold Futures:

These are the settings I am using to import the data.

The data we have is from Tick Data, LLC and when I import ES data, it works fine. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/0e2ewnjw2p....Last.txt?dl=0)

    NinjaTrader Desktop Version: 8.1.1.6 64-bit

    Hello AquaLoco ,
    Thank you for your post.

Please navigate to Control Center-> Tools-> Instruments.
Search for the instrument, you are trying to import data for, and by double left clicking on the instrument, open its Properties window.
Then change the value in a field next to 'Sim feed start price', you can set 1.1 and save changes.

After that, try importing data again.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

      Thank you Oxana,

I tried doing that and it still gave me the error.

Could it be the file name? Since I am trying to import 2022 data?

I think Weekend one cannot get data until Market sessions begin.

          Hello AquaLoco,

Please email us that data file at support[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com, so we can test it on our end.

          Thank you!

Somebody recommended that I name the file with the contract end date that corresponds to the data. In the case of the GC data I am trying to load it would be:

              GC 02-22.last.txt

This renaming of the file allowed me to import the data.

Once I did this, I re-read the instructions from ninja: LINK

When using the NinjaTrader format, the name of the text file to be imported must be the NinjaTrader instrument name followed by a period and "Last", "Bid", or "Ask" depending on the data type. For example:

MSFT.Last.txt for Microsoft stock last price data

ES 12-09.Bid.txt for the S&P E-mini December contract bid price data

EURUSD.Ask.txt for the Euro/U.S. dollar currency pair ask price data

I might suggest to Ninja to add a little more context to your instructions to state that the contract end date must be entered. The file name provided in the example might be confused for the Month/Day of the file. This is where I got confused.
