nt8 latest versions

im in a conversation with a software vendor regarding NT8 versions.he says my version 8.0.28.0 64-bit is 7 versions back. is this true please anyone and does anyone have a list of the latest version back or the change log history...thanks....

We actually have two current versions available right now. 8.0.28.0 and 8.1.1.7. Both of these versions are considered our current, supported versions, and you can use either one. Some vendor add-ons may only work on one version or the other depending on whether they have created a version compatible with 8.1.1.7.

The software vendor is correct, sort of, but there is more to the story.

As noted by JustinD, 8.0.28.0 is still considered a current release.

You'd be well-advised to stay on 8.0.28.0 for now. There is nothing
wrong with this version, unless you (or the vendor) need a fix specific
to the 8.1.x.x series.

The new 8.1.x.x series is an abhorrent mess, starting with the mandatory
username/password signon dialog which pops up every time you start
the NinjaTrader.exe application.

Be forewarned, currently there is no way to disable this annoying login.
Many have asked for a 'Remember Me' checkbox on this dialog as a
way to bypass the new mandatory required password entry, but NT
product mgmt is refusing to allows users this convenience.

If this new mandatory password signon is unobtrusive to your workflow,
then you're probably in the minority of users.

bltdavid On the bright side, it took 7 releases to go more than 30 days without an 8th... Today marks 30 days without a hot fix...

#brenthilburn - loving your positivity (sarcastic undertone appreciated ;-). Otoh there’s still rarely a day goes by without some poor #NinjaVictim/#NinjaCustomerAbuse posting a problem with 8.1 relating to password/login/Account Dashboard in some form or other, or simply asking for the User-electable Option to bypass it.

Regarding claims .0 and .1 are both ‘current’ versions and Supported - to note: not equally. .0 is being actively, strategically and stealthily deprecated under the radar, so anyone choosing that path should do so eyes wide open and anticipate more of same

brucerobinson I am glad you picked up on that... My sarcasm font was broken.. And I agree with you... When the desktop platform goes away so do A LOT of Ninjatraders problems... and customers... But they are full steam ahead... Once the 8.0 is deprecated, it will be super easy to push the rest to the web... Sad... NT could have DOMINATED this space as the premiere desktop... Instead they are forcing people to check out other user platforms...
