Omitting Log in Screen by adding a NT8 Conenction (Live License User)

    Hi There,

I've got a great tip to omit the annoying login screen, which can't store the PW.

I was told to connect to NT settings with the login credentials. I did. However, I was prompted with the red Login NT screen at the start. After login check NT connected both Kinetick and itself (NinjaTrader connection)

My question is, what steps are needed to omit the initial (red) login screen forever and to connect directly by using NT Connection settings.

    Thanks

    Hello Trader108,

    Thanks for your post.

To clarify, are you referring to the initial login screen when starting up NinjaTrader 8 seen in the attached screenshot?

If so, there are no supported workarounds for omitting the login screen when starting up the NinjaTrader application.

A username and password must be entered to log into the NinjaTrader Desktop platform. This is how the NinjaTrader platform was developed to function for security reasons.

This 'security' excuse is a load of crap, as we all know.

        To all users:

For the last two decades, the NinjaTrader platform was
developed without a username/password dialog, and it
        worked just fine.

In last last few months, the NinjaTrader platform was
re-christened the 'NinjaTrader Desktop' and it was
updated with a brand new username/password
        dialog.

        How come?
Because NT is moving towards larger offering of platforms,
so the Windows platform needed to be rebranded as the
'Desktop', to make way for Web and Mobile platforms.
        Fair enough.

Your new login credentials for this dialog represent NT's
migration to a universal login for Web/Mobile/Desktop.
        Ok, makes sense.

In this new world, license keys are no longer necessary,
and indeed, NT has stopped selling license keys since
the introduction of the 8.1.x.x series last March.
        Yep, that's a big change.

Also, in this new world, the username/password dialog
is mandatory, with no opportunity to revert to prior
behavior of the last 20 years.
        Woah, what?

From the user's perspective, this is about choice,
or more precisely, the lack thereof.

So, no, I and many others do not believe the desktop
was updated for 'security' reasons. This is quite simply
a lie, used to justify the unnecessary product mgmt
decisions to force mandatory password entry.

Users and vendors have been begging for this login
dialog to include a 'Remember Me' checkbox, so that
the mandatory password entry requirement can be
        easily bypassed.

        -=o=-

If you are able, stay away from 8.1.x.x releases and
stick with 8.0.28.0 -- your sanity will thank you.

        Just my 2˘.

The change CANNOT simply be for security reasons for the simple reason that anyone who wants to have to sign in every time to protect their account can check the box "Ask password on connect" on the connection properties. Therefore, this is not increasing security at all for anyone who wanted it to work that way. And for anyone who did not want it to work that way (which I believe is certainly MOST traders), a change has been forced on them that is completely undesirable.

I would like to use my vote to to ask for a 'Remember Me' checkbox, so that

              Yes!

More good reading (my essay on this exact topic) is here.

Keep calling it as you see it guys - #NinjaGarbage aka barefaced lying.
Call them out in public, relentlessly.

Remember the #Ninjatrader_Ray “we’ve supported Legacy Users for years and will continue to do so’.
That is true. However - I have a grandfathered Licence Key with Static SuperDOM functionality. Static SuperDOM is now no longer available with 8.1 other than with NinjaBrokerage accounts.
No notification thereof. Surruptious stealth forced migration to 8.1, NT Brokerage, forced Login whether you wish it or not.
Same with pathetic Snap to Line Drawing Tool - Released not working out-of-the-box (pathetic QA, testing), fixed it in 8.1 but deliberately elected NOT to apply fix to .27.
Hollow words from #NinjaTrader_Ray betray the reality of their pernicious strategy.

                Just my 2c
