    Ninja trader apex eval account

    Hey guys,

Maybe someone can direct me to a post with a basic set up because im sure someone has had this question.

I just got ninja yesterday and am doing an APEX eval challenge. Why does ninja trader look like it's from 1995?

How do i get my charts and the rest of my platform to look pretty like i have seen in all the youtube videos from people who use ninja?

Why on earth does the DOM stop when you hover over it? lol

Is there a way to stop the DOM from doing this? or do i have to purchase another DOM (who would have thought)

also, i go to add order flow tools from the ninja trader dashboard, and it wont even let me log in. This trading software seems like a joke. sorry to be negative.

    thanks for the help

    Hello big beta,

    Thank you for using NinjaTrader.

You may change your platform's overall visual theme from the Tools > Options > General window using the 'Skin' setting. Please restart your platform for any changes made to this setting to take effect.

The Dynamic SuperDOM's Price Ladder is designed to remain suspended while you hover your mouse over it to allow you to accurately place a trade without being affected by market movement. Unfortunately, this is hard-coded and cannot be turned off. The Static SuperDOM's Price Ladder remains static permanently as the price moves up and down, but it is only available for use with NinjaTrader Brokerage accounts at this time. A full overview of both SuperDOM types may be read here in our NinjaTrader Help Guide - Dynamic vs Static SuperDOM

If you are having any trouble logging into your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard, please try selecting the 'Forgot Username' or 'Forgot Password' options and double-check your email for any 2-factor authentication emails if you have that turned on for your account. If you remain unable to log in, please write to our support team directly at [email protected].

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

      ok, another issue.

I was just in a position and went on the DOM to place a stop order by clicking next to my entry price on the buy side. The price was much lower and i was short. instead of placing a stop order, the system just bought and closed my position which i didnt want to do. how do you place a stop order on the DOM when you have a position open without getting filled?

        Hello big beta,

        Thank you for your response.

An immediate fill like you are describing indicates that you placed a Limit order on the Buy column at a "worse" price than the current price causing it to fill immediately at the "better" price. To avoid this, you would need to place a Stop Market or Stop Limit order.

To place all different order types in the SuperDOM, you may use the following shortcuts:
        • Limit orders are placed using the left mouse button
        • MIT orders are placed using the Ctrl key + left mouse button
        • Stop-market orders are placed using the Ctrl key and middle mouse button
        • Stop-limit orders are placed using the middle mouse button
Basic Buy or Sell market orders can be placed using the 'Market' button at the bottom of the price ladder. If you would like, you may switch the button combinations for Limit orders and MIT orders, as well as Stop-market and Stop-Limit orders, from the SuperDOM Properties window.

You can move any order on the SuperDOM by clicking on the price of a working order to highlight it and then clicking again on the price you would like to move it to.
