Revert to 8.0.26.1

After a frustrating week of working with 8.0.28 and unable to resolve deadlock issues permanently, I have decided to revert to 8.0.26.1 and just use Rithmic data and account. Went through folder re-name, uninstall, re-install from my saved copy of MSI, but I'm getting a database error msg. Tells me to click Reset and Exit to continue with .26. I click, but nothing appears to happen other than exit. When I re-open, same msg box comes up, doesn't allow me to do anything else.

Anybody have any ideas about how to get past this?

8.0.26.1 is last version that use MS SQL 'Compact Edition' database.
The database filename has extension '.sdf'.

Starting with 8.0.27.0, NT8 uses a different database technology,
known as SQLite, and the database extension is now '.sqlite'.

Goto your db folder, you should see either
NinjaTrader.sdf
NinjaTrader.sqlite

(I think) the issue is NT never designed a way to downgrade from the
SQLite database back to the older MQSQL/CE database.

These steps may or may not work.
Continue to your own risk.
(Aka, make a backup)

If you've already reverted by installing 8.0.26.1,
to complete the database downgrade portion, I would recommend
you exit NT8, rename your current db folder to 'db.ORIG' , then
restart NT8.

NT8 should rebuild the missing db folder and subfolders and build
a brand new pristine database file with the correct extension.

If that doesn't work, your backup is db.ORIG and you can
still undo everything.

Thanks. For what it may be worth to anyone else doing this: I was able to get my backup file imported, and that solved it. But I had to be sure I did it immediately after fresh install, and before changing my folder-name back to NinjaTrader 8. Otherwise, the db conflict will prevent you from even getting to the Import menu.
