Just a suggestion may be worth a try if haven’t already - go into Database Management & do it from there rather than through the pop-up

      Hello,

You should be able to remove this message by deleting the UI file. To do so, shutdown NinjaTrader and open your documents folder, then the NinjaTrader 8 folder and delete the UI.xml file and restart NinjaTrader.

Could you elaborate a little bit on what is happening here that requires the user to delete the file? What is the root cause? I have seen this happen as well this rollover.

I'm with Bruce here... I did this on a test machine just to see what happens and the old UI that I saved (just in case) is way larger than the new one created when I restarted... How about a little direction from NT on this? Maybe I don't want to do this based on the consequences...

Yes. We need to understand what is going wrong here so it can be fixed or mitigated. Directling my clients to "delete some file" is not really that great. If, first of all, this is any way connected to anything any NinjaScript is doing, we need to know what that is so it can be addressed - it did not do this before so there may be some new behavior in the latest builds. Second, if this is a "bug" which it certainly seems to be, it needs to actually be fixed on the NT side - we can't just add it to the documentation that users should delete a file every once in a while - that would be ridiculous. There needs to be more of an explanation of what is happening that causes this.

This issue had to do with a way the UI file was being saved in a certain release of NinjaTrader, causing this particular modal window to pop up each time unexpectedly. This issue has since been resolved on our end, however if this is occurring the UI file will need to be 'refreshed' to prevent this from happening.

So, it sounds like you are saying that as of 8.1.1.7 this is broken in the public release that is available to everyone, but you fixed it in some future pre-release that is still in development but not available to us yet, and in the interim everyone needs to do this, but when 8.1.1.8 or 8.1.2.0 or 8.2.0.0 is released whatever comes next, it will then be fixed for the public?

Are we certain this is even a NinjaTrader UI file problem and not the user failing to saving their workspace?

                      Hello,

To clarify, this issue was isolated to a past version (.4), not the current release. However the issue will persist even when upgrading from .4 until you perform this step. We were able to replicate this on our end and were able to confirm it was not the result of the workspace not being saved unfortunately.

It really can't be fixed it in an installer file and only solution is to require the user delete the file manually?

Correct, the file will need to be removed, in which case a new UI file will be created when the platform is next launched.

Hard to believe removing the file couldn't be programmed into the .msi installer

It sounds like the judgment is that few enough users installed .4 that they can be instructed to delete the file instead of adding a way to detect this (that .4 has been installed in the past and the problem exists) to the installer. Obviously, that's not the ideal sitaution, but it is understood that resources are not unlimited.
