Hello Alesiosc,
Thanks for your post.
Tools > Instrument Lists would be used to add an instrument to an instrument list or create a custom instrument list.
See the help guide page below for information about how to add an instrument to an instrument list
Adding or Removing Instruments from an Instrument List: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ment_lists.htmLast edited by NinjaTrader_BrandonH; 06-06-2023, 10:56 AM.Brandon H.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello Alesiosc,
Thanks for your note.
To add an instrument to an instrument list, go to Tools > Instrument Lists.
Select the list you want to add the instrument to in the Lists section of the Instrument Lists window.
Click 'add' in the Instruments section of the Instruments List window.
Type in the instrument that you want to add or select the magnifying glass to search for an instrument.
Select the instrument and click Enter.
The instrument is added to the instrument list and will now be available throughout the NinjaTrader application.
Please let me know if you have further questions on this.Last edited by NinjaTrader_BrandonH; 06-06-2023, 10:57 AM.Brandon H.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello Alesiosc,
Thanks for your notes.
You mentioned you are trying to open an Index and the SPY instrument is a Stock instrument.
To clarify, are you trying to open a chart for the ^SP500 index instrument or are you trying to open a chart window for the SPY stock instrument?
Are you subscribed to real-time market data for the instrument you trying to access?
Did you manually enter the stock symbol or are you using the Search feature to find the pre-configured instruments in the instrument database?
See this demonstration video showing how you could open a chart for the ^SP500 index instrument and the SPY stock instrument: https://brandonh-ninjatrader.tinytak...MV8yMTU2MzA4Ng
If you follow the same steps seen in the demonstration video, does the error persist?
You should still update the platform to the latest version. Updates to NinjaTrader will contain the latest security updates and bug fixes, as well as occasional new features and instruments.Brandon H.NinjaTrader Customer Service
