    8.1.1.6 Upgrade issue

    We also decided to upgrade after the notice and have issues with a couple of our computers.

    This first computer connects over to GFF however there are no bars on the chart. The chart has MES MAR23 in the instrument dropdown. Reloading historical bars does nothing. Nothing changed with our routers and networking. And this happened right after upgrading from 8.0.27.1 to 8.1.16.

    Here's the info from the orange line in the log window:
    Failed to resolve instrument for market data: F.US.MES.H23 could not be resolved.

    I'm guessing this isn't a DNS type of resolution since the line just before reads Connection Using HDS (hds-us-nt-007.ninjatrader.com/31655) and I see the green circle thingy at the bottom left that reads Connected.

    No idea what to do next.

    Thanks for your post.

    It seems that the chart you mentioned is for an expired contract MES MAR23 (MES 03-23). Please follow the steps below to update your instruments to the current contract expiry (MES JUN23 / MES 06-23).

    Please follow these steps to roll over the expiration date of a Futures contract:
    • Navigate to the Control Center > Tools > Database window.
    • Left-click the ‘Rollover’ button that appears just below the table under the ‘Rollover futures instruments’ section.
    • Close this window when this process completes.

    To view contract rollover, expiry dates, and other trading events click the link here .

    ​After rolling over the expiration date, open a chart window for the MES JUN23 (MES 06-23) instrument and report your results. Does the error persist when opening a chart window for the current contract expiry?

    Further, you could change your symbology display style to 'Numeric' so that it reflects NinjaTrader 8.0.27.1. To do so, log into the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard at account[dot]ninjatrader[dot]com, select the Avatar icon in the top right corner of the Dashboard, select 'Settings', select the 'Preferences' tab, and select 'Numeric' under the 'Symbology Display Style' section.
