Use the same license key on 2 PCs from the same IP address

    Hi,
I purchased the multi broker version NT. Can I install NT in 2 computers with the same license key? One is for my live trading, and the other is for APEX evl trading. Both computers are in the same IP address. Thanks

How long ago did you purchase your license key?
Which version of NinjaTrader do you intend to use?

If you upgrade to the 8.1 series, the concept of a license
key goes away (it is replaced by the entirely new client
portal account, which is completely cloud based).

AFAIK, [edit: in the pre-8.1 days], since both machines
would be doing live trading, they technically need two
    different licenses.

    But wait ...

Doesn't Apex offer a free NinjaTrader license key?

Why not use Apex's free NT license key on your machine
    that trades Apex?

Or, perhaps even better, since you have an M/B license,
why not trade everything from the same machine where
    the M/B license is installed?

      Hello JD,

      Thank you for your post.

If you are using the latest version of NinjaTrader desktop, you may import/migrate your license key per the following article:

When it comes to evaluation services, we have the following connection guides that depend on whether you are connecting via Rithmic or NinjaTrader Web as well as if you plan to connect to a NinjaTrader account at the same time as your evaluation service or not:

You should certainly be able to have NinjaTrader set up on 2 computers. Even if you are migrated to the latest version of NinjaTrader, your login with username/password allows for up to 2 connections at the same time across Desktop, Web, and Mobile. It can be 2 of the same connection type or a combination of 2 between those options.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

On 8.1 series, you can do live trading (to the same NinjaTrader brokerage account(s) on the same username) from up to two devices at once. Each device could be a computer, or a mobile, or a web platform, as long as there are no more than two at once. Since the license maps to a username in the new scheme, the one license would support live trading from two devices at once. The only question would then be if you can connect to Apex from two at once - that would be a separate question and the answer there is probably no since they use Rithmic.
