Fresh install of NT8 on Win10 Home in VMWare Fusion won't start

    Fresh install of NT8 on Win10 Home in VMWare Fusion won't start

    I can log in with the latest version of the Windows Desktop client. It asks for Live or Simulated trading. Either selection results in the following logs:

    2023-05-20 23:50:29:378|2|4|Session Break (Version 8.1.1.6)
    2023-05-20 23:51:06:097|1|4|Global simulation mode disabled
    2023-05-20 23:51:07:379|0|4|Unhandled exception: The URI prefix is not recognized.​​

    This makes it seem like a proxy server or firewall is redirecting the attempt to contact the NinjaTrader server. Does it do the same thing if you install NinjaTrader 8.0.28.0? If it were me, i would focus first on the firewall or proxy or antivirus or antimalware settings on that VMWare installation. Try opening a browser and go to ninjatrader.com from the VMWare instance. Does it work? Does it redirect in some way?

      Thanks for your post.

      Ensure exceptions have been added to any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 8 folder on your PC.

      If the behavior persists after ensuring exceptions have been added to any firewall/antivirus/backup programs, please send a brief description of the behavior you are reporting and your log and trace files to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. One of our Support technicians will investigate your log and trace files and report their findings as soon as they are available.

      To manually attach your log and trace files to your email.
      • Open your NinjaTrader folder under, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents")
      • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
      • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
      • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
