    Chart doesn't change with account change?

    Hello,

    I've noticed the chart does not update to reflect the Account selected. My default is SIM101, the chart has transactions I made as SIM101, but when I select my live account, the chart doesn't change to reflect the live account, it still shows the SIM101 chart.

    How can I make the chart update to the live account transactions?

    Thanks for your post.

    So I may accurately assist, please answer all the questions below.
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.?.?)​
    • Do you have Chart Trader enabled on the Chart window?
    • Is the 'Account' drop-down menu in Chart Trader set to your Live account, not the Sim101 account?
    Note that to view trades for your Live account on the chart, Chart Trader should be enabled and the 'Account' drop-down menu in Chart Trader should be set to your Live account.

    If possible, please share a screenshot demonstrating the behavior you are reporting.
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

      Hi Brandon,

      - Version: 8.1.1.3 64-bit
      - Chart Trader is ON
      - Yes, Account in Chart Trader is set to Live account, not Sim101 account.

      I did these snapshots in one session sequentially.

      Expected:
      1. Entry and Exit markers on charts whether manual or strategy.
      2. Chart follows account settings
      3. When switching from a live chart to strategy chart and coming back to live chart the displayed chart should show live transaction markers

        Hello Caesar,

        Thanks for your notes.

        If you have a NinjaScript strategy applied to the chart (enabled or disabled) and you place manual orders on the chart, the execution markers will not appear on the chart until the strategy is removed from the chart.

        If you have a strategy running on say the Sim101 account on the chart and the strategy placed an order to the Sim101 account, you will see the execution markers on the chart when the Chart Trader Account is set to Sim101. You will also see the order marker stating the quantity of the order and the PnL.

        When you switch to a different account on that same chart, you will still see the strategy execution markers on the chart but you will not see the order marker on the chart since the strategy is applied to that chart window.

        If you open a New > Chart window set to say the Sim101 account, you will see the execution markers for manually placed orders and strategy placed orders since no strategy is applied to the chart. You will also see the order marker. If you switch the Chart Trader Account to a different account on this chart window, you will not see the Sim101 execution markers or the order marker.
