    Playback Connection and Multi-Broker License Questions

    Greenings,

    Please refer to this post I made some time ago and received a satisfactory response:

    I decided to not upgrade to the latest version because I am unsure of what to expect. Currently and when I execute Playback to test my strategies, I use the Sim License per the post above and then switch to my multi-broker license to trade.

    Will I be able to do the same if I upgrade? See, my license is already imported so with the new version my old license would be recognized if I log in. Could I potentially run into an issue? Could I switch to some sort of a Sim account to execute Playback testing? Has this been addressed, and I no longer need a Sim account to conduct Playback testing?

    Thanks for your post.

    You could upgrade to NinjaTrader 8 version 8.0.28.0 and switch between your Simulation Only License Key and your Multi-Broker License Key by using the Control Center > About > License Key menu.

    In NinjaTrader 8.1 (8.1.1.5), License Keys are no longer being supplied and account plans have replaced License Keys so the About > License Key option was removed from the latest version of NinjaTrader Dekstop. This means it would not be possible to switch between the Simulation Only License Key and the Multi-Broker License Key.

    Note that you can migrate your Multi-Broker License Key on NinjaTrader 8.1 by importing the License Key using the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard as you noted.

    You will have access to a Sim101 account on the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop and the Playback connection will still allow you to use the Playback101 account.

    To access the Sim101 account you would enable the 'Multi-provider' option in the Tools > Options menu.
