    Data delayed

    Hi Team Ninja

I am having a problem with my Data connection. As you can see in the screenshot my $TICK Data in the Destop version is delayed compared to the Ninja web version. How can I fix this? I am with Apex/Tradovate and have a Key Indices Top of Book - Level 1 Data subscription.

    Thanks!

    Hello Browniver,

    Thank you for your post.

So I may accurately assist you, please answer all of the following questions:
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.?.?.?)
    • Are you connecting with the same credentials in NinjaTrader desktop that you are using in NinjaTrader web?
    • Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green in the lower-left corner of the Control Center window.
      • Please also check the "Connections" menu in the Control Center
      • Are you connecting only to Apex/Tradovate or are you connected to a NinjaTrader demo/live account in addition to Apex/Tradovate? There are specifics in the following connection guides:
    • Do you have multi-provider mode enabled? This may be verified at Control Center > Tools > Options. There is a checkbox for Multi-Provider mode. Is it checked or unchecked?
    • Do you receive an error on the screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
I look forward to assisting you further.

      Hi Emily

I am really confused about the login and connecting rules. If I login with my Ninjatrader credentials I get the real time $TICK data from Ninja but I cannot connect to my Apex/Tradovate accounts. If I login with my APEX/Tradovate credentials I get the delayed Ninjatrader $TICK Data and cannot connect to real time Data from Ninjatrader.

      The errors I get:

If I rename my connections it automatically renames it to "simulation" internally. Then I have several accounts with name simulation. One from Ninjatrader and the six from Apex all with the same name. It looks like there are different names but internally they are all called simulation. This may be (part of) the problem. When I Logout and login again its called "simulation" again.

        Hello Browniver,

        Thanks for that information.

I see that you're using an older version of NinjaTrader Desktop. The update should resolve the mismatch in account names not displaying as expected. To update NinjaTrader, please visit the link below for steps on how to update to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop.

Note: Updating NinjaTrader Desktop will not affect any custom configurations, workspaces, or add-ons.

        https://support.ninjatrader.com/s/ar...language=en_US

Please test your connections again after the update and let me know if the symptoms persist with the delayed $TICK data. I look forward to hearing the results.

I have updated to version xx.xx.5. Its getting better ;-) The naming problem disappeared. Still there is the delay problem.

Either I have real time $TICK Data from Ninjatrader but then Apex/Tradovate Futures price data is delayed or I get real time Apex Futures data but then Ninjatrader $Tick data are delayed.

Same situation when using Ninjatrader credentials or when using Apex credentials.

          Any ideas?

            Hello Browniver,

            Thank you for the update.

If you are planning on connecting to both connections at the same time, I suggest setting your preferred connections based on instrument type and which provider you would like to receive data from for that instrument type. This may be set up at Control Center > Tools > Options > Market Data > General > Preferred Connections (both historical and real-time). For more details, please see the help guide section below:

Otherwise, if you are expecting to get real-time data for Indexes, such as $TICK, in addition to futures, such as NQ or MNQ, from the same provider you will need to reach out to either NinjaTrader (if a live account and not demo) or Apex to see if there is a way to modify your data subscription to include all desired real-time data.

I suspect that connecting to both connections and configuring your preferred connections for Index and Future instrument types accordingly should be the simplest way to achieve real-time data for both instrument types in the desktop version.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

My system is set up according the guidelines you have sent me:

              https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ataConnections

Now for Preferred connections: Preferred connections only offers Ninjatrader not Apex or Tradovate. So I use Ninjatrader as preferred connection for index. But preferred connections for Futures Data NQ also has to be Ninjatrader since my Dataprovider is APEX/Tradovate which is the same as Ninjatrader. There is no preferred connection Apex I could use.

Whatever I try either one Data (Index or Futures Data is delayed).

                Hello Browniver,

Thank you for your reply and for your continued patience.

Are you able to set up your NinjaTrader connection via the NinjaTrader Continuum connection type listed here?

I am curious about the outcome of connecting to NinjaTrader via NinjaTrader Continuum and Apex/Tradovate via the NinjaTrader (web-based) connection. If successful, you should be able to set NinjaTrader as the desired connection for Futures and NinjaTrader Continuum as the desired connection for Indexes. If your NinjaTrader account is only a demo and not a live account, I am not sure that the NinjaTrader Continuum connection would be successful. This might mean that ultimately you would need to reach out to Apex to see if there is a way to add a data subscription to real-time Index data to your account or you would need to use a different data source for Indexes. We have the supported data based on each provider listed in the help guide here:

Thank you again for your time and patience. I look forward to assisting you further.

I have Ninja Live account but failed to logon to NinjaTrader Continuum. So do I have to ask Apex or can you ask some programmer at Ninja if there is a solution?

                    Hello Browniver,

                    Thank you for your reply.

If you have a live NinjaTrader account, please ensure that the "Demo" box is unchecked in your NinjaTrader Continuum configuration. If the connection still fails, I would like to take a deeper look at your diagnostic files to understand the configurations you have attempted and assist you further. You can send these files by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support. Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default. Please include "ATTN Emily C" in the subject line and a link to this forum thread in the body of the email.

I look forward to resolving this item with you.
