When using tick replay and volume based indicators (delta volume, cumulative delta volume, volume profile, vwap), NT8 enters a race condition. This is tested with multiple different volume based indicators and tick-based bar types. Upon exiting the platform, an error appears stating there was a read lock. The current work around is to open the task manager and find the abandoned thread still running and end that task. Then open NinjaTrader 8/db/ and delete the db/cache folder. Then restart. This will cause everything to work again (regardless of bar type, indicator, etc.) until there is an indicator change or platform restart.
Please look into this. The fix I mentioned was in the forum from as far back as 2017. Regression failure?
The other workaround is to turn off tick replay, but that breaks any indicators that depend on tick replay.
