Where do I find details for adding Futures instrument - using Rithmic Data Feed

Hi,

I want to add various Micro futures, eg. MYM, MNQ & MES.

When I 'add' I am asked for various settings, such as Master Instrument/Exchange/Symbol Map, where do I find these?

I have tried to add MYM using:

Master Instrument = MYM
Instrument Type = Future
Exchange = ClearPort
Symbol Map (Rithmic) = MYMM3

However, it does not appear in the Instrument list available under Futures. When I try to add it again, I am told an Instrument already exists with that name. I have tried restarting NT8, which didn't help.

I am trading via Rithmic using an Apex prop firm supplied NT key & Rithmic data feed.

You may be confused.
Are you trying to add Micros to the 'Futures' list?

Use Tools menu option 'Instruments List', not 'Instruments'.

How to update the 'Futures' list:
Select Tools > Instruments List ... dialog pops up ...
Next click on 'Futures' in left column, then in right column
click the small 'Add' in bottom right. This will let you add
your desired Micro instruments to the 'Futures' list.

Tools > Instruments is used to define new instruments in
NinjaTrader, but the Micros should already be there, you
don't need to 'add' them. This is the system wide list of
all instruments stored in the database, rarely do you mess
with this dialog.

Tools > Instruments Lists is used to define new lists and
add/remove instruments to/from those lists. The 'Futures'
list you mention is in there -- it is one of several user-defined
lists used to organize your most common instruments, they
are helpfully pre-populated by NT during installation.

Ah yes I see,

NT8 is structured so that the Instrument list needs to be configured with the additional instrument.

Thanks for your notes.

bltdavid is correct if you are looking to add certain instruments to an instrument list.

To add a futures instrument to an instrument list, go to Tools > Instrument Lists > select the 'Futures' instrument list on the left side of the Instruments Lists window > click 'add' on the right side of the Instruments Lists window > search for the instrument you want to add > and double-click on the instrument to add it to the list.
