^TICK & ^TICKQ charts

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out why my ^TICK and ^TICKQ charts seem to be different types of charts (see attached).
The ^TICK moves back and forth around the zero line like a typical tick chart while the ^TICKQ meanders, more like a price chart.
Continuum is my data provider.

They have different sampling rates. Try graphing them each on a 1-tick chart to see.

Thanks. Is there a way to "normalize" it so it looks like a TICKQ on other platforms?

Have you considered changing the chart style to line on close for both?

Thanks for your post.

QuantKey_Bruce is correct. You could try charting each instrument on a 1-Tick chart to see the differences between each instrument.

You may also consider changing the chart style to Line On Close for both charts to try and "normalize" it.

Thanks for your reply. Two questions...

1. The NT8 ^TICKQ chart is a different type of chart than the tick charts on TradingView and ThinkorSwim (all three from today attached ) and every other tick chart I've ever seen, including NT's regular NYSE ^TICK chart (attached above). It's not a matter of the chart style. Something is obviously different in the way the data is being displayed, ie, the way it moves around the zero line. Why is this?



2. I have Continuum and I can load the ^TICK and ^TICKQ charts but they do not function in real time. Historical data is loading only. Should I be getting live data with my subscription?

To clarify, are you subscribed to the 'Dow Jones & Key Indicies' data feed subscription in the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard?

You would need to be subscribed to this data feed subscription to get realtime data for the ^TICKQ and ^TICK instruments.

To see your Market Data subscriptions in the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard, log in to the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard at account.ninjatrader.com, click the account icon on the top right corner of the chart, select 'Settings', click the 'Plans' tab, and look at the 'Market Data' section of the Plans tab.
