    TD Ameritrade connection doesn't authorize

    Hi,
    I know this is asked over and over, but none of the previous posts have helped for me. I had not been using my tda connection for 3+ months, and it said the token was no longer valid. I removed the connection and recreated it - at one point it said "authorized" but didn't work. Subsequent attempts result in never changing from "authorize" to ":authorized". Note: I no longer have IE11 as the Edge browser replaced IE - I original made my TDA connection years ago.

    PS: now I see an ie window opens for a split second and then closes, while an edge window opens. At one point, an IE window managed to stay open, but authorization did not take effect.
    Also, I have set my default browser to IE and restarted pc... same behavior results (IE window briefly opens and closes, then edge window)

    Hi JAtrades, thanks for posting. First, try to just log into your TDA account through the web browser or ThinkOrSwim to make sure the account works properly. Second, if you have modified Microsoft Edge in any way or made any modifications to the default web browser, this issue could be specific to your operating environment so it would be worth a test on a completely different PC if possible. If it works on a different PC, in the most drastic case, you may need to re-install Windows to make sure the required Edge browser is working properly. If you continue to have issues connecting, please send an email to platformsupport at ninjatrader.com so they can work with you more closely so you do not share personal account information on the forum.

      Thanks for the reply...So, this should work with Edge then? I saw references in older posts that said it would not.

        Hi, Yes it should work with Edge as Internet Explorer is now out of support.

          Just in case it helps anyone else, I resolved this issue by updating to version 8.0.27

              Hi JAtrades, If you were using an older version previous to 8.0.27 then upgrading to this version may have been the solution. Just note that NinjaTrader is now in version 8.1. You can now create an account through our website and download the latest version of the platform from your profile page, you will use this same login to open up the desktop platform:



              To enable to TDA connection after updating, go to Tools>Options>enable "Multi Provider"
