FXCM connection issue

    FXCM connection issue

    I cannot connect to FXCM with MyNinjaTraderFXCM connention. Tried both old and new 8.1.1.3 version. the lights stays yellow permanently. See below.
    Worked fine until yesterday.

    Are you sure it isn't just weekend downtime? FX generally trades Sun pm - Fri pm (relative to EST).

      Sometimes yes, they close down for weekend maintenance, but they send a message beforehand. But not today, I can connect without any problem to FXCM Servers from web, from their desktop application or 3rd party web app.

      I just found out though that you need to configure a new connection using FXCM, as the old one NinjatraderFXCM does not work. The FXCM connection exists only in 8.1.1.3 version so I updated both PC's.

      But now I have the classic after-update-data issue. They are messed up.

      Anyone remembers how to clean the DB ?

        Thanks for your post.

        On NinjaTrader 8.1.1.0 or newer you must have Multi-provider enabled and configure an FXCM connection in the Connections menu.

        Are you able to successfully connect to the FXCM connection after configuring it using the steps mentioned in the article linked above?

        What exactly are you referring to when you mention "But now I have the classic after-update-data issue. They are messed up."? What exactly is "messed up" on your platform?

        If you are still seeing a yellow connection dot in the Control Center after configuring an FXCM connection, first please reset your dns with the steps below.

        Go to the Windows menu
        • Type CMD
        • Right click on Command Prompt->Run as administrator
        • Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit Enter
        • Once finished close this window
        • Open NinjaTrader
        If this does not resolve the error please shut down your PC then reboot your modem, restart your PC, and let me know if you can then test your connection again.

        If the issue persists the most common reason is that a firewall, antivirus or other protection software on your PC or on the network your computer is on is preventing a connection to the servers.

        Please close NinjaTrader then disable any firewalls, also anti-virus or other protection software you may have running and close all other applications you may have running on your PC at this time then test once again.

        Let me know if I may be of further assistance.​

          My FXCM connection works fine now, same does myNinjaTraderFXCM . I do not think I got multibroker license.

          Every time I update the app, my data mess up/missing/not consistent, call it as you like. I usually delete the old ones, and reload fresh. The last update was long ago, so I did not remember how to do it.
