    Login issue.

    Hello,

    I installed the latest version Ninjatrader 8.1.1.3. But when I try to login, it always gives me "An error occurred while sending the request".
    I tried to restart my computer, I tried to uninstall and reinstall it, and tried to turn off the firewall. None of these worked. So now, I'm stuck.
    Can anyone help me with that?

    Who is your broker?
    I mean, who are you trying to connect to?

      I can't even log in, so not getting the step of connecting broker.

          Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums.

          This error most commonly occurs when NinjaTrader is unable to communicate with the servers due to it being blocked by another program or there is an issue in the path between your computer and the appropriate servers. Please check for software such as VPNs, firewalls, spyware, and anti-virus software that could be blocking NinjaTrader. In some cases, the modem/router has built-in software that prevents the connection to be established.

          To resolve this, I recommend the following steps (please test for the issue after each step before continuing to the next step):
          • Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder
          • Restart NinjaTrader
          • Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
          • Restart your PC
          • If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
          ​If you are still unable to connect, please send us your diagnostic files so we may further investigate. You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

          Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default. Please include a brief description of your inquiry in the body of the email.

          Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.​

            Thank you for the instruction. I tried a few things, but did not seem to work.
            My questions is how come the old version works but not the new version. I uninstalled the newest version and installed back the old one. Now it works perfectly.
            I'm so confused.... My computer is the newest model too.

              Thank you for the update.

              I am glad to hear you are able to connect successfully on the previous version. I suspect this may have to do with the Log In screen on the latest version of NinjaTrader. With the login, the username and password are authenticated to grant access to your account, entitlements, and server-side ATM templates. It requires a stable connection to live[DOT]tradovateapi[DOT]com; if you are not able to connect successfully it could result in errors like the one you reported. The previous version does not have this new log in so it does not need to connect to live[DOT]tradovateapi[DOT]com on startup. This log in screen is mentioned in the release notes for NinjaTrader 8.1 here:
