Not sure if this addresses all of the issues, but there is no cost to use other than the subscription which is really cheap. I did a free trial first and then decided to continue. There's some other cool features in the bundle too. As far as I can tell, the static superdom basics are solid and the company says the 2nd version will have a lot of the options available in the static SuperDOM. Hope this helps. https://www.theintentionaltrader.com/mrdd-eas/

Hi Bruce,Originally posted by brucerobinson View PostIt is a debacle of Ninja’s making.
At the time of the un-announced (to Users and Vendors alike) introduction of 8.1.1 and move away from Licence Keys to ‘plans’, @Ninjatrader _Ray (NT Founder) surreptitiously slipped in to the conversation over on FIO that the Static SuperDOM would become unavailable through third-party brokers, to ‘encourage’ Users toward NT Brokerage (whilst waxing lyrical about how supportive NT has always been to legacy Users and Lifetime Licence-holders).
I had a similar run-around to Krizia with the platform not enabling Static (which I’ve had for 10 years), loading dynamic DOMs instead, delivering messages that Dynamic DOMs cannot be used to trade Futures Contract (which they can, & if you don’t have Static how would you trade Futures on a Dom with a Futures-oriented platform & brokerage? - what’s that all about other than eating my time?) and much further time-wasting and frustrating baloney).
Not sure what’s happening with you FMtrader - my experience has been that if you don’t have Static DOM enabled in your Licence Key you only have the Dynamic DOM available, if you do have Static enabled you have BOTH available (hence there would be no need to have Static disabled in order to use Dynamic - you simply choose which in ‘New’ menu).
But I have no idea what the situation is now, nor what you’re experiencing/the need to disable Static in order to access Dynamic.
Nor do NinjaTrader Support or Client Services (Licencing) it would appear.
It has been a similar run-around re: prop-firm account key. I asked about enabling Static on that (given that I ‘own’ a ‘Lifetime’ Licence with Static DOM enabled & Prop-firm says you can use your own Licence Key if you have one).
Told by NT I am using a Prop-firm Key and NT can’t change its’ entitlements, that is up to the Prop-firm. Prop-firm says they can’t change, that I am using an NT product and it is up to NT. ‘This is your tail, please chase it’. At least they are consistent in their response!
My Lifetime Key does not give access to Rithmic at NT Brokerage Connection, so cannot be used for Prop-firm.
If I switch Licence Keys in the Platform the Prop-firm Key causes a rebuild of my workspace with dynamic SuperDoms (because their Key does not have Static Dom entitlement) which it then tells me (incorrectly, via numerous Messages that must be cancelled) I cannot use Dynamic DOMs to trade Futures Contracts.
I asked Client Services about importing Licences in to the new Dashboard (I am using .27.1 which I have only just updated to) & (given NTRay’s surreptitious comments) do not wish to lose my entitlement to Static SuperDoms as a consequence. I was first told by Client Services that I should import both (Prop-firm & Lifetime Licence) sequentially in specific order. This was then contradicted here by Support.
Just like this thread.
I’m concluding that I have a ‘conflict’ across Connections and Static Dom entitlement - my Lifetime Key gives me access to CQG Data Connection and Static Dom, the Prop-firm key gives me access to Rithmic at NT Brokerage Connection but not CQG or Static Dom. NT Client Services told me that the Connections remain in the Platform whichever key is used. This is not the case, they have to be recreated each time, Username & Password re-entered.
Just a pitiful time-wasting litany of mis- and mis-leading information.
It seems policy on Static Dom entitlement is likely to be obfuscated and available exclusively to NT Brokerage customers in the future, and lead to the type of confusion attached to Multi-Broker licencing which has required the dedication of bltdavid reams of explanation to bring clarity to.
Here’s hoping he may find himself suitably energised about Static DOMs. I just want to trade as I am used to, with whomever I want to, without feeling sea-sick. That’s why I purchased a Lifetime Licence with Static DOMs enabled.
Simple
Estimated time wasted on this so far - at least 20 hours & all I’ve got to show for it is conflicting information from NT.
I recall someone reporting a similar state of affairs relating to Lifetime Licence and losing access to order-flow tools after ‘importing’ their Licence Key at the Dashboard.
Krizia - I don’t know if Jigsaw Trading’s Dom does Static. May be worth a look & believe is considered to be a superior product to Ninja’s own by order-flow officianados.

Excellent post. I feel your frustration when reading the replies from support. The only word that comes to mind is "gas lighting". You would literally take the time in great detail to explain each nuance to your concern with history, and it was as though you were talking to a wall. I truly feel for you.
My comment to other posts regarding the removal of the Static DOM has been to ask what other features may expect to be removed from the platform that we paid for in our Lifetime purchase? Also, how much longer will users be able to use Ninjatrader with other brokerages.
When I purchased my lifetime license, Ninjatrader was a platform an not a brokerage. Then they started a brokerage and a grave conflict of interest ensued. Now we see features being stripped from our platform that we paid for and we have to sign up with Ninjatrader brokerage?
NT, respectfully, how can I even begin to consider using NT as a brokerage (just to get access to Static DOM) when they broke their word to me when I purchased my lifetime license. If NT broke their license agreement, how can I trust that they will give me valid fills or not increase margins on the fly and thereby taking me out of positions without warning. Today NT removed a feature I paid for in my lifetime license. Additionally, I cannot use with Prop Firms. How much longer before we are unable to use NT with other brokerages?
Lifetime license with NT turned out to be a good Lifetime lesson
If I am wrong about anything I said, I am open to understanding why. I can be reasonable, but Bruce explained it perfectly and I know how many hours I have wasted on this that I won't get back as well.
Bruce, feel free to PM me if you want to discuss what options we may have to address this. I would be interested in pursuing this if anyone reaches out and we can start with a petition to the company first and then explore other options. Perhaps we can invoke reinstating what we paid for or come to some compromise in the form of a refund of some kind.
Let me be direct, this just isn't right. And again, I would like to know when you will be disallowing us to use NT with other brokerages. What is the date that this feature will be removed or end.
Thank you in advance,

Does the 20 year expiration still apply, or does it get reset if they transferred the patent to a new owner?
Looks like the static dom patent was originally granted on 2004-08-03, so just 1.5yrs longer?

The patent can be reinstated within two years if the lapse was unintentional and they simply pay the fees, which I am sure they will.

Can anyone read this patent document and understand when the patent on Static Dom will expire? Or has it already? https://patents.google.com/patent/US6772132B1/en
So TT assigned the patent on Static Dom to HARRIS BRUMFIELD, AS TRUSTEE OF THE ASCENT TRUST, ILLINOIS, on 2021-12-21
Then on 2022-11-14 (few months ago), shows PATENT EXPIRED FOR FAILURE TO PAY MAINTENANCE FEES: https://patents.google.com/patent/US...E+ASCENT+TRUST
So can NinjaTrader finally put Static Dom back into NT 8, and not gatekeep it behind a NT brokerage account? There's already so many other reasons incentive NT brokerage accounts. Only people it hurts now are the prop firm users.Last edited by backtester831; 04-27-2023, 10:15 AM.

#backtester831 - I lost the will to live on this. Made a macro workaround using the Dom Center button and Hotkeys for Order Entry to mimic Static

Surprised to hear your lifetime key doesn't work with Rithmic... thought all lifetime keys worked with Rithmic by default.Originally posted by brucerobinson View PostIt is a debacle of Ninja’s making.

Hello FMtrader,
You will need to work through the support email for this question so that we can check that your account is configured correctly. I am not able to help look up your account from a forum post so I can only reiterate what we have already discussed about working through the support email.

I have just upgraded to 8.1.1.3 and the problem with changing the static superDOM back to dynamic has disappeared. Whereas in 8.0.27.1 I could see both DOMs listed and appeared to be stuck with the static setup I can now only see the dynamic one in 8.1.1.3.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Jesse View PostHello FMtrader,
As that was not mentioned with your first post we would assume you are running the latest version. We always recommend using the latest version when answering questions. If you are still using 8.0.27.1 you will need to let the support member know that when you discuss this in the email. We would still need to review your account to make sure its configured correctly.

Hi Jesse.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Jesse View PostHello FMtrader,
You will need to wait for a response to the new email you sent to support so that we can review the account with you. If the account is set up correctly and you are still getting this message the support staff may need to collect details to form a report so that can be corrected. They would otherwise need to troubleshoot the problem with you to find a solution.
Please also make sure you are using the current release 8.1.1.3.
So are you effectively telling me that by my choice to stay with 8.0.27.1 for the time being that I cannot change back to the static DOM? I haven't been in a rush to change to the 8.1 series due to all the issues that have surfaced on the forum.

So 19 days after I received an email from support saying they had actioned my request to change my static superdom back to dynamic I still get the message that I cannot trade using the dynamic version!
Quote from email 4th April 2023
"Hello xxxx,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We have successfully reverted the StaticDOM back to the DynamicDOM for you.
I hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxxxxx.
NinjaTrader Client Services"
I have sent them another email requesting the change. Not sure what is happening with NinjaTrader these days.

So, to be clear - I purchased a ‘Lifetime’ Licence with static Dom entitlement with a 3rd-party broker (before Ninja became a broker) and now Ninja has rescinded this facility, thus breaching the Licence Agreement/terms of purchase.
So much for Ninjatrader_Ray’s hollow words about supporting legacy users etc. over on Futures.io. I could see this coming…. ‘will be encouraging Users…..’ Bullying is what it is.
And, as with everything else about this 8.1 shift, no advance notification, no transparency, obfuscation abounds (other than ChelseaB’s eventual clarification here).

Hello KR,
To confirm, the Static SuperDOM is only available for NinjaTrader Brokerage clients and cannot be enabled for prop firms. The transaction fees for this are deducted from the NinjaTrader Brokerage account balance.
The Static SuperDOM can only be enabled by the NinjaTrader staff for NinjaTrader Brokerage accounts. Please contact support [at] ninjatrader.com if you would like this enabled.
