Hi - I'm looking for a good source of Level 2 market data (e.g. equities to start with) - is Ninja a reasonable place to look?

Welcome to the NinjaTrader Forums.
You could subscribe to market data from the NinjaTrader Client Dashboard.
First, log in to account.ninjatrader.com. Once logged in, you could click the Account icon in the top right corner of the Dashboard and click 'Settings'. In the Settings section of the Dashboard, select 'Plans', and then select the 'Subscribe' button in the 'Market Data' section to subscribe to live market data.

The Data By Providers help guide page linked by bltdavid and linked below shows what data each provider will support depending on the provider you choose to use.
