Why does Playback take hours to activate?

    Why does Playback take hours to activate?



    Sometimes when I create a Playback Connection, the Playback window pops up, but does not activate. The options stay muted. I haven't found a pattern to this, but sometimes the playback window activates within minutes, and other times I need to wait overnight for the playback window to activate.

    How can I get Playback to consistently activate within a short wait?

    It shouldn't even take minutes. If you have historical data or market replay data in the proper folder, it should activate pretty much immediately upon launching playback connection. I have experienced it staying grayed out and not activating, but simply disconnecting and re-initiating the connection has always worked for me. It loads pretty much instantaneously.

      Yeah, same for me.

      It's quite common, maybe 25% of the time it will time out and nothing will happen.

      Just disconnect Playback Data, and reconnect.

        Thanks for your post.

        The Playback connection will generally not take a long period of time to load so long as you have the Market Replay or Historical data downloaded.

        If you download the Market Replay or Historical data you want to use in the Tools > Historical Data window and then connect to the Playback connection, do you see the behavior persist?
