do i need an account to download?

I have a ninjatrader licence but never needed an account to login before. Was there any notifications sent out earlier as i want to download for my new computer and it asks me for a login details.

Yes, as of the launch of version 8.1 you do need to log in to the account portal in order to access the download links. The URL to log in and download is as follows:

https://account.ninjatrader.com/download

You may register for a free simulation account in order to gain access. We have more details in the help article here:

I understand that not receiving an email about these changes can be frustrating. Due to the nature of the changes made and the updates to our website, there was no advanced notice. That said, we do have the following FAQ that was released as soon as the changes were launched:
