    z-order keeps getting reset

Whenever I open Ninjatrader, I go through all my charts and reset the z-order so the candlesticks are in front of everything else. I save my workspace after doing this, but no matter what, I must go through this task after I close the application and re-open it. Is there something I'm missing?

My version is 8.1.1.0 64-bit, but this also happened in the previous version.

    Thanks

    Hello sonnygrapples,

    Thank you for your post.

Would it be possible for you to show me a video demonstration of this issue? I'd like to try and recreate the behavior on my end, but I do not experience the same so I would like to see the process that you are using.

I look forward to your response.

I can't provide a video easily, but perhaps I can help narrow the problem down, it seems to be happening with my Regions. So if I have a region-y marking a supply or demand zone, when I boot up ninjtrader, the candles will be behind the regions. I can easily fix it by changing the z-order, but then when I save the workspace nd re-open it, the candles are stuck behind the regions again. So it could just be the regions and not other drawings.

        Hello sonnygrapples,

Thank you for your reply and for the added context.

No problem with the video, the additional information helps. Let me test a few things to see if I can replicate the behavior and I will follow up with you as soon as I can!

          Hello sonnygrapples,

          Thank you for your reply.

I am unable to reproduce this issue. I've added both an X and Y Region Highlight tool to my charts, and have changed the z-order so that the candles are in the first position. I then save my workspace and restart the platform. After restarting, my candles have retained the first position in the z-order. Are there any steps that I am missing? I want to make sure that I am properly testing so please let me know what a good step-by-step process would be to reproduce so I can be sure that I've tested accordingly.

I'm not sure what I did or didn't do but now it's working as expected. Sorry for the bother, if it starts happening again I'll do my best to record it.

Okay, I'm now able to reproduce the problem, and I have a video.

                Hello sonnygrapples,

Thank you for your reply and for the video.

Seems to specifically affect the tabs that you have on the chart. I will do some testing and see if I can get the same behavior.

I will follow up with you as soon as I am able to complete my testing.

                  Hello sonnygrapples,

I have a quick question about the way your chart is configured. Are you using Global Drawing Objects (IE: are your region highlights using the 'All Charts' property) or are they drawn on each chart individually?

I'm setting them to "All charts"

                      Hey sonnygrapples,

                      Thank you for your confirming!

This may be the missing piece to the puzzle. I'm going to do some testing with that information and I will let you know what I find out.

Thanks again for your patience regarding this issue.

                          Hello sonnygrapples,

                          Thank you for your patience.

I've been able to reproduce this on my end when using Global Drawing objects and multiple tabs. I will be reporting this to our Development team for review.

Thank you for reporting this behavior.
