    How to switch license keys?

Basically created a new account to test Apex's Tradovate login through NinjaTrader Desktop. Accidentally imported their Rithmic key @APE-XTRA-DERF-UNDI-183T-PR45-LW27-63GE first, and then realized my mistake and imported their Tradovate key @ESP-TRAD-OVAT-EEVA-LUAT-ION9-FC37-6BEA

However when logging into NinjaTrader Desktop with this account and connecting with the Apex Tradovate login through the NinjaTrader connection, it connects but only shows Sim101 account, doesn't show the Apex Tradovate account.

I'm guessing the problem is because the NinjaTrader license management is using the Rithmic license key I first entered instead of the Tradovate key. However I'm not sure how I can fix it on my end since I've already imported the Tradovate key as well. Can this only be fixed by NinjaTrader support now, or is there something I can do on my end to correct it, short of creating a new NinjaTrader Web account?

See attached screenshot of the NinjaTrader Desktop About window, showing the NinjaTrader login only has Rithmic Entitlement, so I think this is the problem and it should be the Tradovate key instead, but me importing the Tradovate key again at this point isn't overwriting the original Rithmic key.

Just checking to see if you guys saw this? It's okay if you're working out the solution internally, just hoping to get an acknowledgement that it's being looked at.

      Hello backtester831,

Per the screenshot that you provided, I see that you have the "Evaluation (Rithmic)" enablement on your NinjaTrader user. This will allow you to set up the connection to your simulation account with Apex Trader.

If you want to connect within the NinjaTrader Desktop platform, you will need to use your username and password for Rithmic to set up this connection.

If you want to connect within the web or mobile platform, then you will need to use your username and password for Tradovate.

backtester831 I wonder about the wisdom of posting licence keys in a public-facing forum. Unless it is the standard NinjaTrader @SIM key, it may not be a good idea to post live trading keys here. Just a thought.

        Thanks.

          Hello jeronymite,

The license keys that this client provided are publicly available, and they only allow for trading in an evaluation account. This is why I did not redact or delete the information in the original post.

Thanks, NinjaTrader_ChristopherD. Good to know in this case.

Still, probably good advice to avoid posting licence keys unless accompanied by "(publicly available)". Again, just trying to avoid inadvertent publication of keys that may remain visible for a period of time before being seen by NT Support and redacted.

            Thanks.

Apex Tradovate log in can be used with NinjaTrader Desktop as well. I figured out my mistake.

The correct way is to log into NinjaTrader Desktop with the Apex Tradovate account (don't create a new one for this)

Then in NinjaTrader desktop, select the NinjaTrader web connection, and enter the same Apex Tradovate login again.

So the most important part of all this is the license keys don't matter at all and don't even need to be imported.

Also, looks like using the Apex login on the NinjaTrader license management login, I can simultaneously connect to my NinjaTrader Continuum account. Not sure if this is intended, NinjaTrader_ChristopherD can you please check to confirm before I start telling people? This was never the case in 8.0.27.1 with Rithmic, so pretty sweet to have a free multi broker license.

Basically log into NinjaTrader desktop using Apex Tradovate account. Then connect to two simultaneous connections, NinjaTrader Web with Apex Tradovate login and NinjaTrader Continuum.
