FXCM ES 06-23 contracts & ^SP500 indice datafeed Issues

    Hi Everyone,

I would like to preface this by saying I tried doing a search of the forums and was not able to come up with an answer. Hopefully someone can help me out

After enabbling multi-provider option on NT8, I was able to add FXCM as the provider, which connected successfully (green circle).

However, I am unable to view the price-feed data for the ES 06-23 contracts nor the ^SP500 indice. I know that FXCM enables the trading of the contracts through their indices price feed. (see image below)

Yet I can’t get the price data to stream. The FX pairs are functioning properly, so the connection is working properly. My account is not set up as MT4 with FXCM, which I read can be an issue. It is a regular TradeStation account, which according to the interwebs is fine, as long as both are not being used at the same time, since NT uses the same connection as TradeStation.

If anyone has answers to the questions below, I would much appreciate it!

    1) What do I need to do to enable the price-data for E-Mini S&P 500 futures.
    2) If for whatever reason there is an issue getting the price-data from FXCM, could I get the price-data from another data provider (can I use NinjaTrader data feed since I have lifetime license?), while executing trades on the instrument from the FXCM account by selecting it in the drop-down menu (see screenshot below)?

    Hello L2BProptrade,

    1. Unfortunately futures and index instruments are not supported with FXCM in NinjaTrader Desktop. Please see the link below under 'Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider' which shows supported providers and what data they support.

    2. Yes, you can get futures data from a broker/data feed connection that supports it.

You can use the Simulation connection to receive futures data. Please disable 'Multi-provider' at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->General and click OK. Restart NinjaTrader and select Simulation in the 'How do you want to trade?' window. Then connect to the Simulation connection at Control Center-->Connections. More information can be found at the link below.

      Hi Jason,

      Thanks for your detailed reply.

I have another question. How would I go about connecting an datafeed+brokerage that is not on this list? Is it through the "my external" option? If so, what is the procedure there?

L2BProptrade If you are connected to FXCM and select @SPX500 (NT's identification of a CFD), that will connect to FXCM's SPX500. I have connected with an FXCM Demo account and can see real-time data and can place orders. The prices and spreads are identical to FXCM's Trading Station. With a live FXCM account, the data remains the same. I have not tried placing orders live, but I would expect it would behave correctly.

        Thanks.

If the broker/data feed is not in the list, it is typically not supported. To what broker/data feed do you try to connect?

The External connection can be used in combination with the DLL interface to send market data from 3rd party applications to NinjaTrader. Please see the link below for more information.

I am trying to connect Tradovate to Ninja Trader, it is on the list of connections you provided, but I do not see it on the list of connections within the actual Ninja Trader platform.

Please see the connection guide at the link below. You will need to create the connection for "NinjaTrader" from the list of Available connections.

I will try this, although I see Tradovate has been removed from the list of supported brokers/feeds: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...y_provider.htm
