Viewing stops and targets on price ladder
Maybe I'm remembering this incorrectly, but it seems to me that before the last program upgrade (8.1.1.0 64-bit), I could click the middle mouse button above the current price in the ladder and view the target and click below the current price to view the stop. I can't do that now. Am I remembering this incorrectly or has this changed?Tags: None

Hello sgordet,
Thank you for your post.
I believe what you may be referring to is the Single Click Modification functionality or the order submission options mentioned by Ray above, which have not changed.
For more information, I have provided a link to our Help Guide below:Otherwise, you may select the SuperDOM window and hover your mouse over the Price Ladder then use the scroll wheel to move up and down the Price Ladder. You may need to disable Auto Center so it doesn't reset automatically to the current price.Spencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I found it!
I may have either inadvertently clicked "Auto-Center" in the SuperDOM or the NT upgrade reset it to that.
I'm posting this in case someone else is searching for it in the forum. I have found that the search function in the help guide is so imprecise, generating so many specious answers, that it never helps me find anything. This order view function is several layers deep in the help guide. I find it very helpful:
Navigation: Operations > Order Entry > SuperDOM > Order DisplayDisplaying Stop Loss and Profit Target orders outside the visible rangeThere may be times when your Stop Loss or Profit Target orders are outside of the visible price range of the SuperDOM price ladder. You can easily bring these orders in range by first disabling Auto Center from the SuperDOM right click menu, and then clicking with your middle mouse button in the Price column.
As long as Auto Center is disabled, clicking on the bid or above with your middle mouse button will bring into visible range the first stop loss or profit target order above the highest displayed price of the price ladder. Clicking below the bid with your middle mouse button will bring into visible range the first stop loss or profit target order below the lowest displayed price of the Price Ladder.
You can then quickly navigate back to the last traded price by either re-enabling Auto Center, or pressing the C button to manually re-center the price.
Note: This function only works if "Single Click Order Modification" is set to False in the SuperDOM Properties window. If set to true, middle click will instantly modify your Stop Loss or Profit Target orders. Please see the help topic on Modifying and Cancelling Orders for more information on that feature.

Hello sgordet,
Thank you for your note.
With Auto Center disabled you would be able to scroll up and down the Price ladder without it automatically adjusting back to the Last traded price.
To do this you would need to have the SuperDOM window selected and have your mouse hovering over the Price Ladder.
You may then use the scroll wheel on your mouse to move the Price Ladder up and down.Spencer F.NinjaTrader Customer Service

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SCROLLING. IT'S ABOUT CLICKING.
I copied the note above from your NT 8 Guide:
As long as Auto Center is disabled, clicking on the bid or above with your middle mouse button will bring into visible range the first stop loss or profit target order above the highest displayed price of the price ladder. Clicking below the bid with your middle mouse button will bring into visible range the first stop loss or profit target order below the lowest displayed price of the Price Ladder..
Please look into this.
Thanks,
Stephen

Spencer, I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but I really liked this feature.
I click on the price ladder exactly as shown in the video. It worked fine before the last program upgrade and hasn't worked since. I don't know if that's coincidental.
Could you please try this on your computer and let me know if it works for you, If it does, I would appreciate any thoughts as to how I could get it working again. I've been careful to make certain that "Single Click Order Modification" is set to false and that Auto Center is off.
Thanks for your patience,
Stephen

Hello sgordet,
The video I posted is a screen recording of me doing it on my computer with the most recent version of NinjaTrader.
I would ensure you are clicking directly on the prices in the price ladder either above or below the Ask and Bid prices. If this does not resolve this behavior, then we may try reinstalling NinjaTrader.
First please shut down NinjaTrader and uninstall the platform from the Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
Then please follow the steps below to reinstall the most recent release of Ninjatrader:- Login into the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
- Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
- Next select "Download" in the "Most Recent Release" Window on the main screen
- Once the installation had downloaded, ensure any previous version of NinjaTrader is closed before running the installation package.
- Note: You may need to locate this in your "Downloads" folder in a Windows File Explorer

Spencer, I hadn't realized that you had gone the extra step of recording that video. I thought that it was from the NT library. Much appreciated!
I'm clicking with the middle mouse button exactly where you do in the video, so there is a program issue.
If I uninstall NT and re-install NT will I need to then to re-install all my indicators and workspaces from a backup or will they have stayed in place? If I do need to re-install my work, will that obviate the benefits of the NT re-install? I've generated too much material to start again from scratch.Last edited by sgordet; 03-16-2023, 12:30 PM.

I uninstalled my current copy of NinjaTrader and installed a newly downloaded one. I'm having the same issue with the middle mouse button not moving the price ladder toward the stop/target when clicked below/above.
Everything else works fine and this did work fine until recently.
Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again, Spencer. I found the solution. Here it is in case someone else runs into the same issue:
I have four SuperDOMs open: one for each of the instruments that I trade. After I created the first SuperDom, I cloned it to create the other three and changed the instruments. With all of them, I had the same issue of not being able to make the target and stop visible by center-clicking the mouse.
It finally occurred to me that maybe the first SuperDom was corrupt and that I had duplicated that corruption in the other three by cloning the first.
Sure enough, I created a fresh SuperDom and the problem was gone--the center wheel click now does the job.
