    8.1.1.0 Chart data time lag

Since updating to 8.1.1.0 using Continuum Data

My charts are lagging my PC clock consistently by AT LEAST 1 second & at times 2 seconds + during the London trading session for 2 sessions in a row now

Constantly over 1 second but quite often it's been over 2 seconds - it changes upon reconnection from 1+ second to over 2 seconds at times

I've attempted a New Workspace with a Single Chart with just a bar timer & reconnecting but it makes no difference (I am judging by the bar timer)
I did not have this issue before updating!

I had a small lag previously due to the 250ms NT default lag but not like this

This lag is quite significant!!! It was not there before

To Clarify I sync my PC clock every day & did so while troubleshooting

Also the time to fetch data from the server once Continuum is connected has increased Significantly!
It's become a long wait once the Connected light turns green until data is fetched

NOTE: make sure you resync your local os clock in case its out - if that's stopped syncing it can go out significantly over a few days/weeks

      Thanks MicroTrends,

But as stated above I sync my PC clock every day & multiple times while troubleshooting this - I'm still having around a 1.5 second lag right now
There's always been a slight lag with NT8 but it has grown larger with the new update for me

There's countless threads on the lag issue here for one reason or another and NT seems to continually blame custom indicators - PC specs etc

I still have a lag without any indicators & have a new Intel 13 Gen high end PC & fast reliable internet connection - Doesn't make a difference

I figured out part of the issue

I'm trading CL futures, when I compare a CL futures chart to an ES chart the CL chart lags the ES by around 1/2 a second but the ES chart is still lagging by around a second

I'm guess it may be a data issue but both Continuum & Kinetick are both basically the same add to that the platforms built in 250ms lag and we're lagging by 1-1.5 seconds up to over 2 seconds during London Session time in my experience

          Hello torento,

          Thank you for the message.

I am curious, if you open the NinjaTrader Web Platform and select the same instruments, are they plotting in time with the charts or are they out of sync with each other?

If they are not in sync with each other, could you please use your phone camera or a screen capture software to capture a short video demonstrating the delay/difference between the two?

We look forward to your response and resolving your inquiry.

The Forum wouldn't let me upload .MP4 my the only option I had was to create a .GIF it seems to view the files we need to right click & open in new tab/window

They show the platform lagging my Synced PC clock by 2 seconds CL 04-23 - It varies I took two videos 1 was delayed by about 1 second upon reconnect to Continuum the delay was 2 seconds

Platform lagging the Web browser - by about 1/2 a second - but again this varies sometimes the platform was ahead of the browser then it switches back again, when the next bars print the timing changes on each bar

CL Lagging ES - There is an obvious around 1 second maybe just under delay between instruments with Continuum data

As you can see this all ads up to the around 2 second delay I'm seeing on CL 04-23

            250ms built in delay
Lagging ES data by 1 second
Around 1/2 second VS the Browser
Whatever time it takes to get the CQG data through your servers & out again (my assumption)

It seems GIF files are not working normally but if I right click & open in new tab or window I can view the them

#Torento - I see you’ve scoured threads on lag and familiar with synching your pc clock so are probably aware: just to say I’ve used Dimension 4 little widget to automate this for several years now. Just choose your atomic clock servers, refresh period, set and forget and you’ll never know it’s there
                Many others available of course
Or continue to do it manually, whatever floats your boat!
Interested to see how your CL/ES plays out

I downloaded NT7 for Reference with the lag issue & I have Confirmed

The CL 04-23 lag does not exist in NT7 Period, it matches my PC clock close to exact within half a second absolute Max

CL 04-23 & ES 03-23 are Synchronized on NT7 - the BarTimer on NT7 is a little rough but time is basically in sync

I also reverted back to NT 8.0.27.1 & can confirm that NQ & ES are now back in sync & the CL data lag is significantly reduced down to half a second or so

I have Confirmed that NT7 is the clear winner in regards to time lag

It seems the issue is with NT8.1
                    With 8.0.27.1 still behind NT7

I may have to revert back to using NT7....

I think I've spent enough of my time already on this issue and will leave it up to you to troubleshoot from here......

With all the issues on the 8.1 platform & the new login I'll be holding on to the 8.0 platform for as long as possible, even though it's not perfect either

I've seen reports on threads of MULTIPLE trading sessions with traders locked out of there accounts due to the new login system and the trade desk on voicemail, 1 trader reports of account liquidation from an overnight position which he could not manage through a news event as NOBODY could log in that morning with the trade desk going to voicemail.....

                        How do you justify this?
How can we say this is an upgrade?

Why are there no laws in place to protect traders and investors from companies like NT implementing such changes and having no avenues for traders or investors to manage positions?

                          Hello,

I suspect you are referencing the system outage that occurred on 3/7 that prevented signing on until service was restored. Obviously we take issues like this with the utmost importance and urgency and will do whatever we can to prevent any further issues such as this.

Should you have any questions or need any assistance with migrating to the new platform when you choose to, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team and we'll be happy to guide you through the process.
