Accounts open prior to 3/4 can still connect to NinjaTrader 7, but unfortunately accounts opened after this date as well as new demo data feeds would not be compatible for use with NinjaTrader 7.

So, NinjaTrader 7 is effectively sunsetted on 3/4/2023, except that existing users have not been turned off. Is that a fair assessment?

Am I understanding correctly so far that there is no sunset date as of yet for NinjaTrader 8.0 Desktop?

Sunsetting is a fair term, though its functionality is still supported at this time. No development resources are being put into NT7 and no new users are able to access this platform any longer, but current users can still use this for the indefinite future. We will let all users know if there is a change to this plan once a decision is made.

NinjaTrader 8 is continuing life as NinjaTrader Desktop, kicked off by the launch this weekend. All resources that were being spent on Ninjatrader 8 are now allocated to NinjaTrader Desktop. You can think of NinjaTrader 8 as a 'prior release' of NinjaTrader Desktop for most intents and purposes.
