Good evening, I'm ready to trade but with difficulties in the platform I have missing freeware indicators, such as Macdvariation etc etc..... we have been able to configure the Apex license and link with Rithmic which works fine, but seeing the missing freeware indicators , I proceed to install them and I have an error in compile..... "Ewave.cs "Ninjatrader.Cbi.License" does nor contain a definition for log ........... this is incredible... The loss of time. They did not notify the company in time, the affected ones are the users, please make things clear, tell me how to solve this error, with clear steps... we will be waiting, thanks

You can do this by going to the Control Center -> Help -> Email Support

Please select "Platform Technical Support" as the recipient and enter a brief "ATTN 03772181" note in the message.

If the automatic method fails, please follow the steps below to send us these files manually:

• Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
• Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder
• Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to support (at) ninjatrader (dot) com
• Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders

The other day I upgraded from version 8.0.27.1 to 8.1.1.1.3 and got a popup warning me to compile my custom ninjascripts. I opened a Ninjascript Editor window and when I hit F5 I got just an error from a drawing tool that has this line:

if (firstTime && DrawingState == DrawingState.Normal)
{

firstTime = false;
Cbi.License.Log("Ewave");

}

And the error is:

"Ewave.cs 'Ninjatrader.Cbi.License' does nor contain a definition for Log" CS0117

Comment out the line with Cbi.License.Log in it by adding "//" before the word Cbi and then recompile it.

Hi (and thanks) QuantKey_Bruce, that is the temporary solution I had already adopted. I wanted to see if support could provide us with a solution to this bug that appears between versions of NinjaTrader

I don't think it is a bug per see - it's the fact that Cbi.License was undocumented and unsupported, and some people have been using it, but then it was changed. That can happen at any time if a developer uses something that isn't part of the supported API.

Thank you for your post.

From my experience, the third party drawing tool called "Ewave" does not work in the latest version of NInjaTrader 8 (8.1)

The developer will need to make updates for it to be compatible with the latest release.

To confirm this, you can try downgrading to the previous version 8.0.27.1 and test to see if the Ewave drawing tools function properly.

To install the previous version of NT8, please uninstall the latest version of NinjaTrader from your computer, then login to your NinjaTrader Client Portal and download the previous release.

If it's the one above in post Visitor Messages you can just comment out that "Log" line and nothing will change - it's just for them to debug during development and you don't need it at all. That was the only thing stopping Ewave from compiling, it seemed like from the post.

For those, who are affected:

If you are referring to the Ewave drawing tool problem #Cbi.License.Log("Ewave");#, it can be resolved by replacing a single line of code shown below:

replace
Cbi.License.Log("Ewave");

with
Cbi.UserEntitlement.Log("Ewave");

Once replaced, Ewave can only be run on the new 8.1 platform - not backward compatible.
