    Downloading historical data from kinectick

    Hello guys,

I just want NYSE + NASDAQ stock's historical intraday data (bid+ask and volume), should I just pay the 75$ for Kinectick or do I need something else?

PS: I don't want live data I am looking only for historical data.

    thank you for the help

For historical data, how much are you wanting?

More information on Kinetick historical data is here.

    Have you checked with IQFeed?

How often do you want to 'refresh' your historical data?

Have you checked with other providers of just historical data?

It sounds like you don't care about real-time data.

Ok, so start by doing an internet search on historical data
        providers for stocks.

Make sure the offering is available in NinjaTrader 8 format.

You'll be importing historical data from whatever data files
you download from whatever provider you find -- and you'll
probably want these files to be in the correct format, ready
for immediate import directly into NinjaTrader.

        -=o=-

        It's a game.

You, the trader, have to find the most economical historical
data provider for the exact kind of data (intraday) and amount
of data (5 years) for the (set of) instruments you are looking for.

Also, you'll have to decide how often do you want to update
your historical data? At some point, your data becomes old
enough that you probably want a refresh, right?

Then decide do you want 'near' real-time, ie, daily downloads
        of yesterday's intraday data? Weekly/Monthly/Yearly?

How expensive do these updates get?
Do they offer a subscription to get these updates?

It's a lot of research, lots of googling, lots of reading ...

Inquire with each company, engage in their 'chat' dialog, ask
questions, and read all the reviews you can for any provider
you consider a serious contender. If they offer a trial, do it.

Also, IMHO, 'free' is not always better. Sometimes 'free' is
a big hassle, or comes with too many restrictions.

Then again, sometimes 'free' can be a beautiful thing.

        YMMV.

        Good luck!
