Gmail Share Services doesn't work on version 8.0.27.1 64-bit

Good day - I've been having trouble receiving Gmails from NinjaTrader. I've removed/re-added Gmail address, and even used the older configuration for Gmail with the relevant server/port, but nothing works! I even updated my NinjaTrader, but no success! Even when I use the "Send a Test Email" it first wants me to authorize access by re-signing into my google account! How can I fix this issue?

    Hello rezamerik,

Can you please try the following steps and check if you receive emails from Gmail. This works on my end when I test it.
    • Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->General.
    • Click the 'Share services' field.
    • Remove the Gmail share service you have setup.
    • Add a new email share service.
    • Set 'Preconfigured settings' to Gmail and click 'Sign in with Google'.
    • Enter your email address and click Next.
    • Enter your password and click Next.
    • Enable 'Send email on your behalf' (all boxes should be checked) and click Continue.
    • Click Apply in the Share Services window.
    • Click 'Send e-mail test' and check if the email is received.

Hi NinjaTrader_Jason and thanks for your response. It works, however, once I close the "Options" window, it stops working. In other words, I do get the test emails once I sign into my google account, but once I close the options window, I receive no other emails. Proof to that is if I re-open the options window and go to share services, then click on the "send test email", I will not receive any emails, unless I sign into my google account again. So basically for each single email there is a need for authorization!

Could it be you are not using Google's "App Password"? Please see post 4 by my colleague Manfred at the forum thread below.
Hi, I can't send an email alert using the share services. Your video says allow less secure apps must be enabled in Google gmail accounts. Google says"allow less secure apps" no longer supported as of May 30 2022. Please advise? David

If the issue persists after performing all the steps of the videos, please repeat the steps I provided in post 2 of this forum thread.

Thanks for your reply NinjaTrader_Jason. What's shown in the second video (setting up shared services) is different from what I see. This is the window shown in the video:

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	116.2 KB ID:	1236499

While this is the window shown on my platform once I open "Share Services":

When I click on "Send e-mail test" and type in my address, this window opens:

Which is the main problem! NinjaTrader is not authorized to send me emails, and I'm not sure how to fix this.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Do you receive an email from Google that NinjaTrader is authorized after following the steps of post 2?

If you go into your Google account and select 'Security' on the left, do you have NinjaTrader listed under 'Third-party apps with account access'?

Do you have 2-Step Verification enabled for your Google account? Once I click 'Sign in with Google', I get messages on my phone to authorize NinjaTrader. I grant NinjaTrader access and I can send test emails without issue.

Thanks for your response NinjaTrader_Jason. I have 2-step verification enabled and NinjaTrader shows under third-partry apps with account access! I also receive an email that I gave access to NinjaTrader every time I sing-in with NinjaTrader. But still, I have to sign-in every single time again to receive emails!

Are you using the app password instead of your google password? You need to do that.

Thanks eDanny. This version of NinjaTrader doesn't ask for an app password. Once I click on the "Sign in with Google" button as shown below, you have to use your Google Account main password in order to authorize your account.

Can you please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files in an email, so I may investigate the issue.
                      • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
                      • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
                      • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments in an email sent to "platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com".
                      • Put 'Att Jason H, 03725611' in the subject field of the email.
                      • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

Thanks for getting back to me NinjaTrader_Jason. I completely uninstalled/reinstalled NJ and it seems the issue is resolved. Appreciate your help with this regardless. Thanks and have a great week.
