Bitcoin Stop Loss Strategy Builder
So I’m building a Bitcoin strategy using strategy builder, but when I try to set a stop loss of $600, the stop loss won’t exceed $9.0 in testing. I set the stop loss to currency but still can’t get it to work. My strategy is getting stopped out to early. How do I set the stop loss for Bitcoin?Tags: None

Hello tmasterpro,
Thank you for writing in.
So I may better assist you, please answer the following:- Are you testing via the Strategy Analyzer?
- Are you setting your stop loss via the stops and targets page of the Strategy Builder?
- Please provide a screenshot of your strategy's backtest settings as well as the builder page where you have set up your stop loss.
- To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
- Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
I look forward to your reply.

Thanks for the response.
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Yes, I'm testing using the strategy analyzer
2. The stops are being set by the Stops and Profits section at the end of the Strategy Builder. I selected "Currency" under the type, and I'm using a User Defined number so as to optimize the stop value.
3. I connected to the Coinbase feed using the BTC/USD pair
Screenshot:
I want to set the stop loss to be at least $600, not $10.
Thanks

Hello tmasterpro,
Thank you for your reply.
One thing to check for under the 'Order handling' settings in the Strategy Analyzer is the Exit on session close checkbox. You may verify on the "Trades" display of the analyzer if there are orders that are being hit as exit on session close orders rather than your stop loss. For more information on exit on session close:Additionally, I recommend adding Print statements to your strategy to verify when the conditions are being met and understand the values being used. We have more details regarding using prints to debug a script, including a link about how to add prints to the Strategy Builder, at the following links:Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
