    NT 8 doesn't open

When I click to open NT 8 the program start up icon flashes for a few seconds and never opens up. I have been running this program for many years and never encountered this problem before. I have rebooted my computer to no avail. The antivirus program allows for the connection and is not the culprit. Everything worked yesterday and to the best of my knowledge no changes took place on my computer that would have caused this to occur. Do I need to reinstall the program?

I tried to re-install NT8, but the computer will not let me do so. It says that the Ninja Trader application is open and thus cannot install the program. This is occurring despite shutting down the computer. Did I just lose the ability to use NT8 on this computer forever?

      Hello!

Please begin by restarting your computer and trying to open the platform again. Did the same behavior happen?
      • If the platform is stuck with the spinning circles again, use the Windows Task Manager to force quit NinjaTrader
If the steps above did not allow you to open NinjaTrader, please use the steps below to manually send us your log and trace files:

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to an email to [email protected] with "03683795 ATTN Kimberly H" in the subject line and a link to this forum post in the message body so I may investigate this matter further.
      • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
      • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
      • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
      • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
Additionally, please send me your Windows Event Viewer logs. To get the Event Viewer log please do the following:
      • Right-click the Windows Start button and select “Event Viewer”
      • Expand 'Windows Logs'
      • Left-click on Application
      • Right-click on Application
      • Select 'FilterCurrent Log...'
      • Change the 'Logged' drop-down option to 'Last 24 hours' > OK
      • Right-click on Application again
      • Select 'Save Filtered Log File As...'
      • Make note of the save location, Enter a name for the file, and select Save
      • Please don't forget to attach the saved Event Viewer log to your reply.
Thanks in advance; I look forward to resolving this item.
