Alert with no indicator to click to assign it

I have an indicator that just prints a couple of letters of text when a condition exists. I would like to set an alert, but the text is not right clickable so I can't bring up the context menu as seen here: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ing_alerts.htm

How can I assign an alert if I can not right click the text draw object?

When creating an alert, you may also start with the alert window itself. To do this, please right-click the chart and select "Alerts". When creating the alert you would then be able to select the indicator that should trigger it.
