    Audio stutter

    Hello!

    I have been getting an audio stutter when NT8 outputs sounds. This is most evident with the "Order Filled" wave which sounds like "Or Order Filled". I hope that makes sense, its hard to describe in writing.

    I am using my display port to HDMI feeding a 4k monitor with display audio. Im not sure where the problem lies but it seems to be related to NT8 whereas placing an order also places a stop order so maybe it is pushing the sound twice? Once for each order? Any ideas to fix?

    Thank you for the post.

    Please note that this sound will trigger for each order filled; if you happen to be using an ATM strategy and submitting orders, this could be why you are hearing the sound in this way.

    Please try setting the order quantity to 1 and the ATM Strategy to "None" and then see if the audio stutter continues. If the behavior stops, add your ATM Strategy back in and if it starts again, this is the result of the entry and Profit/Stop loss being hit right after causing the 2nd order filled sound to be triggered.

    If the behavior persists, please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
    • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
    • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to platformsupport[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com with the subject 03655534.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

      Thank you for the response, The problem persists even when 1 contract is selected and not ATM is enabled.
      I will send the files now...

        I do not see any errors within your log and trace files. As a test can you open NinjaTrader in Safe Mode with the steps below:

        Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.

        To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
        ​Next while in Safe Mode connect and let me know if you see the same behavior when submitting an order.

          Thank you, It persists in safe mode as well. 1 contract no ATM. I am available during the day if you would like to get on a call and hear what it is doing. Its just an annoyance, not the end of the world.

            Please go to the Control Center->Tools->Options->Expand the Sounds section->Enable "Play consecutively"->Click Ok and let me know if you see the same behavior.

              Ah yes thank you. So that laid bare what is happening. There are 2 sound playing. "Order Submited" and "Order filled". It is cutting the "Order Submitted" short after the first syllable and playing "Order Filled".

                The thing is, I don't see an option to disable "Order Submitted".

                  To disable "Order Submitted" within the Sounds section click the X next to "Order Pending" then click Ok.
