    NT8 doesn't recognize current contracts

    Hi,

    I just installed NT8 in my new server, and for some reason the default folders like Futures are missing in "Instrument Lists". I created a list called My Futures and tried to add 6E, it added 6E 12-17 instead of 6E 03-23. When I try to add 6E 03-23 manually it says "Invalid Instrument Name". In addition I tried to reset the instruments via Tools>Data Base Management>Update Instruments>Update, even though I'm connected to Ninjatrader Continuum, I'm getting an error when I click "Update", it says "unable to connect to ninjatrader data servers". Attaching a screenshot, could you help me resolve this issue?

    It does sound like the Instrument add, and Connection problem are likely related i.e. lack of connection causing inability to add contract. The '17 contract is a bit bizarre though. You may find Support a bit slow to respond over weekend, holiday Monday etc, so a couple of thoughts if you haven't had them already and of any help

    - you may be aware but NT often do server maintenance at the weekend so that could be contributing. Could wait a while and try again
    - could try some other action not updating instrument contracts to confirm whether problem is your connection or not (e.g. download historical data)
    - you mention you've done db Update instruments - and that it is a new install - have you done rollover instruments? You may find with a new install they all need rolling over, esp if you don't have a good connection

    Just a few ideas FWIW. Hope may be of some help at least to know more

      If the issue persists, please send me your log and trace files so that I may investigate.

      You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

      Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

        brucerobinson , NinjaTrader_Jason​ thank you both, looks like it was a temp issue due to server not being available, the odd thing is I was able to connect but I guess the data server wasn't responding.
