I just bought a 2nd computer where I would like to install NT8. I have one multi broker licence, what are the rules for NT8 on a second computer? Can I log in on both at least one at a time? Can I have both at the same time and only one connected to my broker? Thanks

Thank you for posting.

You may install NinjaTrader on as many PCs as you wish however with a Live NinjaTrader license key you may only have one instance of NinjaTrader running at a time.

I am trying the same thing (with a demo) account for now, and I am running into all sorts of issues. Sometimes custom scripts cause issues and sometimes NT8 simply doesn't even start up. At the moment it seems to quit right after it is trying to validate the license (at least that is what the message says right before the program quits). I never get an email with a licence key when I input it on the website right before the program download. I am trying to get a second demo license under the same e-mail address, is that not possible? I want to run NT8 both on my laptop and desktop.

By default a free simulation license will be entered with new installations. If you are unable to open the platform please reset your dns with the steps below.

• Go to the Windows menu
• Type CMD
• Right click on Command Prompt->Run as administrator
• Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit Enter
• Once finished close this window

Next please shut down your PC then reboot your modem, restart your PC and let me know if you can then test your connection again.

If the issue persists the most common reason is that a firewall, antivirus or other protection software on your PC or on the network your computer is on is preventing a connection to the servers.

Please close NinjaTrader then disable any firewalls, also anti-virus or other protection software you may have running and close all other applications you may have running on your PC at this time then test once again.

Nope, didn't do a thing. The program still quits after "verifying license". I don't have any virus software running other than what Windows 10 provides standard.

So I may look into this further please send an email to platformsupport [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.
2.) A copy of your log and trace files.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your email.

• Open your NinjaTrader folder under, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents")
• Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
• Send the 2 compressed folders as an attachment in your email
• Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

Thanks. What about vendor indicators and data subscriptions will they work on both one time in one instance at a time the same way as long it is the same license key? Or?

You would need to install the add-ons on that PC using the installation file provided by the vendor and are not transferred automatically. Also if the add-on is registered using your the Machine ID number the add-on would need to be registered for the new machine as well as Machine IDs are not the same on both PCs.

Beware of vendor licenses, most of them will charge if your machine ID changes. If you have 2 computers then thats 2 machine ID`s, its a rip off, that's one reason I wont have paid 3rd party apps, another reason is they just don't work.

Hi AndyM, Thanks for the advice it makes a lot of sense.
My question to you do these vendors sell packages say buy one license and get the second for 50% Off or only regular prices i wonder?
