Started Ninjatrader up after a month and it crashes on startup

Was typically running on a Mac via parallels with no problem. Started up Ninjatrader today after a few weeks and it just crashes. Attaching error messages. Oddly it still runs fine on my Macbook M1 but just dies ugly on the intel iMac. Both machines are running the latest everything and the same everything. Ventura 13.1 and parallels Version 18.1.1 (53328)

Dang spoke too soon. Went back to the macbook and now that crashes as well. Added 1 more screenshot for error message SQLite.Interop.dll......

Looks like an issue with some 3rd party indicator. Try starting it up in safe mode: https://www.xabcdtrading.com/blog/us...ninjatrader-8/

That would confirm if it is .. and then you can uninstall it.

Search forum for Mac parallels - several problems resolved to do with ‘sharing’ the Mac. (above my pay grade)

There are no 3rd party indicators installed and nothing new ones since I last opened it and ran some back tests. Also already searched and unchecked share Mac folders as suggested by the problems related to Mac parallels

          Hello markdshark,

          Thank you for your inquiry.

I can see from your screenshot that NinjaTrader is indeed installed on the //Mac network drive. NinjaTrader is incompatible with this type of Parallels configuration. You need to revisit all of the folder sharing and mirroring settings within Parallels and disable all of them. The Documents folder on the Windows virtual machine must point to a C: drive location only. After disabling all folder sharing and mirroring settings, we will then need to reinstall NinjaTrader to ensure that it is looking in the proper location for the User Data files.

Please follow the steps listed below to reinstall NinjaTrader.
          • Close all running applications.
          • Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
          • Navigate to C:\ > Program File (x86) > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
          • Reboot your Parallels
          • Once these steps are completed, download and install NT8 from the link below:
Once you have disabled the 'Share Mac' option and have reinstalled NinjaTrader, the platform should then work normally.

Since Parallels configurations are not technically supported by NinjaTrader, if you experience any issues with disabling the folder sharing settings, please contact Parallels support directly for assistance. Once you have confirmed that all folder sharing and mirroring is disabled, and that the Documents folder on the Windows virtual machine is pointing to the native C: drive location for Windows, you can then uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader.

Thanks so much. I was able to get it back up and running by following your instructions. Of course now it's showing me the default workspace. I have a fairly elaborate setup stashed in my Documents /Ninjatrader 8/ folder on my Mac. Could you please guide me as to how I might import that folder into the new NT8 setup? I'm guessing I would zip and copy/move the entire folder from the Mac to a new location in Windows?

              Hello markdshark,

              Thank you for your reply.

That's exactly right! You'd zip the file folder on your Mac and send it to yourself via email (I suggest using WeTransfer since the files can be quite large). After creating the wetransfer link or sending the file to yourself, you'll want to fire up your virtual machine and download the .zip file. You can then replace the NinjaTrader 8 with the contents of the one that you brought over from your Mac. Make sure NT is shut down while you are doing this.

Additionally, beware that you may have a change in Machine ID and will most likely have to re-enter your username, password, and license key information as a theft prevention measure.

Please let us know if we may assist you any further in the future.

Which folder would I be replacing the contents with? Not the one in Applications I'm thinking. IS there another one?

                  Hello markdshark,

                  Thank you for your reply.

The location of the file folder in Windows is C:/Users/<yourusername>/Documents/NinjaTrader 8. Once you have access to the original folder from the Mac location and can access the .zip file you created from the Windows virtual machine, you would want to copy the contents of that folder into the new Documents/NinjaTrader 8 folder on the Windows side.
