On Startup: New version notification?

Hello,

I have installed and am running 8.0.27.1, It is the latest, as far as I know. However, when I first startup, I'm getting this notification:


This implies that I do NOT have the latest version.

Looking at my About window, it is showing 8.0.27.1



The Release Notes page has 8.0.27.1 as the latest from December 19th. I downloaded a few days ago, so, again, I assume I have the latest.

My question is, if I have the latest, why am I getting that notification on startup? If I do not have the latest, then shouldn't the latest version be 8.0.27.2 or 8.0.27.1.x?

I hesitate the check "Do not show this message again" because I would like a notification when a newer version is released.

This is an in product announcement pushed to all users. If you have already installed 27.1 you can disregard this message.

Thank you for the response. So, I'm submitting a request/feedback. The announcement should only pop up when the latest version available is newer than the current version being used.

#StealthM93 - as to the unanswered part of your question, if you click do not show again will that be all future updates or just this one?I’d expect just this one, but have often found my expectations and Ninja’s to differ.

Perhaps this may prompt someone to answer your question for us. I’ve clicked do not show again on the basis of my expectation of what that would do (disable the specific message, not all future updates’)

Thanks for the comment. It is really isn't that big of a deal, but another little thing shows a lack of attention to detail. At a minimum, I have subscribed to the thread below. Therefore, within about 4 to 8 hours, I'll get an email when a new version is released (and they have posted such on that thread).

I strongly recommend everyone subscribe to this thread!
