    Why does ^VIX chart not update?

    Hello,

    I created a Data Series with ^VIX as the instrument.

    The chart displays historical data up to the moment the chart was created.

    However, as time goes by, the VIX chart does not update.

    Why is this?

    Thank you for your post!

    I'd be happy to help you with this, but do need a bit more information before I can determine a resolution. I'd like to review your log and trace files. Since these contain personal data, I'd prefer that we continue working on this issue via email.

    Please follow the steps below to send in your log and trace files with a support case so I may investigate this matter further:
    • You can do this by going to the Control Center > Help > Email Support and ensuring "Log and Trace files" is checked.
    • Please select "Platform Technical Support" as the recipient and enter a brief "ATTN Kennedy" note in the message along with a link to this forum post.

      Hello Kennedy, it's just a plain chart with the ^VIX symbol in it, no indicators, no stragies, no add-ons. That's all I did. I didn't try to place orders or anything like that.

        Hello Caesar,

        The symptoms you're describing sound as though you are not enabled for real-time data with your data provider for the ^VIX.

        I would recommend checking with your data provider to see if you are enabled for real-time data for the ^VIX and if you are not, you would need to subscribe to that data with them. Otherwise, if you are enabled for the live data, I'd need to review your log and trace files for any errors, which I've mentioned in my previous post.

          Hi I have the exact same problem. I m getting my VIX from Ninjatrader as the provider. WHat is the solution? I did follow the above solution of emailing through the ninjatrader with the log.
