NInja Trader's Free License to Place Orders to IB Securities Accounts

Is it possible to place an order to an IB brokerage account with a free license of NInja Trader if the order is placed to a simulation account of IB brokerage?

Thank you for the post.

That is correct; it is possible to use real time market data from Interactive Brokers to chart and place simulated orders to the SIM101 account by using the @SIM license key.

With the simulated license key (@SIM-A82F-D583-40B1-AE74-B79F-705D-1952) you will have access to all the features of NinjaTrader except access to the Order Flow+ indicators and the ability to trade live.

If I trade directly on the TWS platform, I can see my trading history, etc., but when I trade via the Ninja Trader platform, it did not seem to show my trading history on my IB brokerage simulation account.

How can this be resolved?

You can typically see your past trades by using the Executions tab or Positions tab in the Control Center.

I understand that you can view past trades on the Ninja Trader platform, but I am asking why there is no history of USDCHF and EURCHF trades in your IB brokerage account when they were executed via the Ninja Trader platform.

Also, the attached image I sent you last time shows the results of AMZN and USD.JPY trades made on IB's TWS without going through the Ninja Trader platform.

I assume that the USDCHF and EURCHF orders were sent to IB Securities via the Ninja Tarder platform, and the execution results were reflected in Ninja Tader, but I can't find any execution history on IB Securities.

Does this have anything to do with the free license?

Thank you for the post.

To clarify, you are using the @SIM license key key in order to connect to Interactive Brokers, so the trades are not being executed to a live Interactive Brokers account. They are being sent to the Sim101 account, so the execution history wouldn't be visible or exist in TWS since Sim101 is built into NinjaTrader. You would need a paid license key to be able to execute trades to your external Interactive Brokers paper trading account or your live IB account.
