    Right & Left side Margin

    Hi guys,

    I'm having some issues with borders blocking my data series on the left and right side of my chart. Below is a screenshot of how it looks, there are supposed to be data in the blue boxes I've drawn. I've browsed through the forum and the only solution I've found was to adjust the right side margin, which I have set to 0.

    Does anyone know a solution to fix this issue?

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    Since I've never seen this particular behavior with NinjaTrader in it's preconfigured state, I suspect that these gaps may be caused by one of the third party components on the chart. To confirm, we will test in Safe Mode. Does this same behavior occur on a new chart in Safe Mode?

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
    • Loading workspaces.
    • Connecting on start-up.
    • Loading custom assemblies.
    • Getting instrument updates from the server.
    To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
    • Exit NinjaTrader.
    • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
    Once you have opened the platform in safe mode:
    • Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
    • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates for this instrument and test for issues.
      • Please note this will not delete your workspace however the new blank workspace will be named Untitled. If you have a workspace already named "Untitled," however, you will not want to save the workspace when exiting NinjaTrader, otherwise, it will overwrite it.

      Hey Zachary,

      I am no longer facing the side margin issue in safe mode.

      Any way we could identify what 3rd party component specifically is causing this issue? Do let me know if I can assist you with any other information from my end.

        Thank you for your reply.

        It's hard to say without troubleshooting. My suggestion is to make a copy of the workspace using the 'save as' feature that you can make changes to a copy of the chart without affecting your original. You can then play around with removing various components until you figure out which specific item it is. You'll know which it is because the spaces on either side of the chart will disappear after it is removed. It may take a little time, but it's the only way to really test and know for sure.

          Hi Zachary,

          I found the root cause of this issue. I had a chart layout whereby I was trading MES off an ES chart which I set up according to the instructions in the link below.

          Some of my settings were slightly different on the MES chart. But once I've adjusted them it works as normal now.
