How to flip between two workspaces using the keyboard?

Hi all.

I find I'm constantly flipping between two workspaces (one for "surveillance" and one for actually placing trades).
In order to do that, at the moment, I use the mouse to

1. go to the Control Center
2. select the Workspaces menu
3. select the workspace I want
4. click on a chart to bring the focus to that chart and send the Control Center to the background.

Is there a way to do this without opening the Control Center??? I took a brief look at Hot Keys but I don't think that's where the solution lays.

Not easily. In NT7 it used the industry-standard Windows shortcuts so you could pretty much everything - Alt+W+Up/Down arrow keys & Return to access all the drop down menu functions, pretty much anything and program macros etc.
This was all blocked in NT8.


A way you could investigate is to use Windows virtual Desktops and put CC in one, WS Observe in another and WS Trade in another. Then you’re back into a standard Windows environment where you can simply tab back and forth between each.

It is a long long time since I looked in to it (when I switched from 7 to 8 and came across the same problem) so do your own research ;-)

M_ichel Tools > Hot Keys > Global with the settings for Workspaces seems to align with what you're after. You said you've looked at Hot Keys. Are these settings not able to do what you want?

Thank you for your post.

Yes, you can switch between your active workspaces by selecting by default the "Shift + F3" on your keyboard. You can change the Hot Keys for this by going to the Control Center>Tools>Hot Keys>Global. From here you can customize the Hot Keys for "Workspaces". Please note, in order to switch between your workspaces using the Hot Key you must have the workspaces open within the platform. I have included a help guide below with more information on Hot Keys within the NinjaTrader Platform.
