Chart Trader Terrible Design

Hello, I've been using NinjaTrader for about a year now and I am deeply troubled by the design flaws of the chart trader panel for 2 reasons:

1) The fixed scale "F" button is dangerously close to Buy Market.
2) If you draw a line across and the end point goes off the chart you can easily click one of these order buttons when you place the line

I urge NinjaTrader to recognize these flaws and create functionality to remove these order buttons from chart trader.

I agree that it is very difficult to trade with chart trader and have always wished that NinjaTrader would just combine the DOM and Chart Trader.
Have to go to third party for any satisfaction as I doubt it will change in near future.
(screenshot taken between live sessions so that's why there is gap between best bid/offer)

mgcorreia Your comment on the placement of the F button is certainly valid when ChartTrader is visible. When ChartTrader is Off or Hidden, it becomes irrelevant. Definitely worth considering re-positioning it in the layout though, since there is a risk of inadvertently pressing "Buy Mkt" when ChartTrader is visible, as you say. Similar concerns for drawing lines.

It is worth noting though, that if you do not want to use the ChartTrader buttons to place Orders, and you prefer they were not there, you can set the ChartTrader to Off or Hidden.

If your suggestion of removing the buttons from ChartTrader is satisfied by using Off or Hidden, your concerns are alleviated. If, however, you want the buttons removed in code and not there at all ever, then ChartTrader is no longer "Chart Trader" and so becomes a different thing altogether, arguably of very little added benefit. This would not be helpful for all those who use ChartTrader to trade.

Whilst the layout of the F button can be improved, if the use of Off and Hidden alleviates your concerns, then ChartTrader can continue to be "Chart Trader" for all who use it in this manner, even with other options such as the DOM available.
