Option to Auto-Subscribe to Market Data

In https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...marketdata.htm, the "Auto subscribe to required instruments" option is described as "Sets whether NinjaTrader will automatically subscribe to market data for any instruments requiring data throughout the platform to properly calculate PnL when trading non-USD pairs".

When that option is set, what event or action causes the subscription to market data to be initiated?

For example, if I open a Basic Entry window to trade AUDCAD in a USD brokerage account, at what point is market data for USDCAD subscribed to? As soon as I select AUDCAD as the Instrument to use? Only when the Order has been placed? Or ... ?

Thanks for your post.

Any data call that occurs in the NinjaTrader platform will initiate the auto-subscription to market data action when the 'Auto-subscribe to market data' option is enabled in the Tools > Options > Market data tab.

This includes opening a window that uses data, such as a Chart, Market Analyzer, or SuperDOM. It also includes AddDataSeries() calls in a custom NinjaScript, BarsRequests, etc.
