About Data Providers and Brokers

Hello ラリー,
Thank you very much for your post!
It would indeed be possible to receive data from one provider and submit orders to another.
If you connect to more than one provider, you may click on Tools > Options > Market Data to set the preferred provider for historical and real-time data for each instrument type individually.
E.g., you could submit Futures orders to NinjaTrader, Equities orders to Interactive Brokers, but receive data for both instrument types from Kinetick, without subscribing to data through either of the two brokerages.
Please don't hesitate to let me know, should you have further questions in this regard!

Hello.
Thank you for your reply.
I was under the impression that if you trade via Ninja Trader, you can only view market data, unless you have both a trading brokerage and a market data provider (which IB Securities provides). Is it my understanding that this is possible by acquiring market data from a provider, importing it into Ninja Trader, and setting the trading account as IB Securities?
In other words, market data can be ordered to IB Securities account from other data providers, not from IB Securities, right?

Hello ラリー,
Thank you very much for your reply.
To my knowledge, this is correct. While some brokerages require that you are subscribed to data for the instrument you trade, this can usually be disabled and is generally more a precaution to ensure you don't trade 'blind'.
Interactive Brokers, for example, has a setting in their application directly that, once enabled, would allow you to trade even if you don't receive market data from them.
I would suggest reaching out to IB Securities in this regard, as they might have slightly different rules.
Please don't hesitate to let me know, should you havea ny further questions!

Below is the content of the communication with IB Securities.Interactive Brokers, for example, has a setting in their application directly that, once enabled, would allow you to trade even if you don't receive market data from them.
I would suggest reaching out to IB Securities in this regard, as they might have slightly different rules.
I: I contacted NinjaTrader and was told that "The Interactive Brokers Application has a direct setting that, when enabled, allows you to trade without receiving market data.
How do I set this up?
IB Securities: Simply submit your order as usual.
I: So you are saying that it is set up so that you can trade without receiving market data?
IB Securities:
Yes, no special settings are required.
That's all I have to say about the consultation.
However, the I think the NinjaTrader platform has Kinetick free by default, and I connected my IB account with it, but I got an error message as shown in the attached image.
How can I resolve this?

Hello ラリー,
Thank you very much for your reply!
The "Kinetick (End of Day)" connection only provides daily data and would allow you to e.g. chart a daily AAPL or ES 02-23 chart. Smaller granularities, e.g. Minute-, Tick-, or Second-charts would not receive data.
Please also ensure the installed TWS or Gateway version is 10.19.1c. You may find this version in our Connection Guide below:
As long as at least one connected provider supplies data for the instrument you chart, the error should then no longer occur.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
